It had taken him a long time and many dead ends before he was able to find a few choice nicknames to call her that didn't land him a whack upside the head or a long lecture that he didn't have the patience or attention span for. Though he had to admit that her reactions to some of them had been pretty funny to watch. Except for a few of them that caused him pain but he preferred to block those ones out.
"Toots."'
Ah, that one had landed him the subject of the longest lecture he had ever received since he left had home and his ma wasn't around. It sort of refreshing in a dull headache kind of way. Man that girl could talk when she wanted to, if he remembered correctly the words pig and some reference to being compared to candy was made. But he couldn't be sure. He tuned out after the first couple of minutes.
"Broad."
He didn't get as big of a reaction as he had hoped with that one, nothing more than an irritated grumble. Besides it hadn't rolled off the tongue like he had hoped it would.
"Princess."
He preferred to block that particular little episode out. There were mentioning's of a dog and a really scary glare… like he said, he preferred to not think about it if he could help it.
"Sweet cheeks."
She nearly took his head off when he called her that- not just in the figurative sense either. His head hurt just thinking about it. Who knew she had such a good arm on her? He sure as hell didn't 'till that puck made contact with the back of his hard head.
"Babe."
Ring a ding ding! We've got ourselves a winner! He wasn't injured when he said it. He got a bit of a rant but nothin' too big. Actually she seemed to be warming up to it as time went on. Plus it rolled off his tongue real smooth and natural like.
"Hey, babe! Get me a sandwich will ya!" One Casey Jones yelled from the couch where he was in the middle of a video game showdown with Mikey.
She didn't even bother looking up from whatever little gadget she was tinkering with on the kitchen counter. "Get your lazy butt off the couch and make one yourself!"
Yeah it was perfect.
