DISCLAIMER ( faced with a dozen wolf mutts) Me: "I do not own the Hunger Games." (Mutt snarls) Me: "Down buster."

"...And may the odds be ever in your favor." Katniss and Peeta turned to look at each other, the rule had just been revoked, now there could only be one victor.

How exactly had it come to this? thought Peeta.

His gaze wandered to the arrow on Katniss's bow, and he shrugged. "Go ahead." he said. "One of us has to go home."

Katniss shook her head, her eyes wide. She only now realized how much and how terribly she loved this boy.

"They have to have their victor!" Peeta protested.

Katniss shook her head again."No, they don't."she said. She pushed her hand into a hidden pocket, and withdrew a handful of Nightlock berries."Here," she said, holding them out to Peeta. Peeta's eyes widened, and he pushed her hand down.

"No." he gasped, Katniss looked at him, then put her arm around his shoulders and guided his lips to hers.
Their brief kiss ended, and they stood there, their foreheads touching just looking at each other again.

"Trust me." Katniss whispered. "A pair of starcrossed lovers," she said in a louder voice. A ghost of a smile appeared on Peeta's face. He understood what she was doing.
"Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright, it seems she hangs upon the night like a rich jewel in a Ethiop's ear." Peeta murmured.

Katniss laughed, then kissed him again. "You kiss by the book," she said.

Across the nation of Panem, everything was silent as every person from District Thirteen to the Capitol watched the two tributes recite to each other from the stanzas of a forbidden manuscript.

"My only love sprung from my only hate, too early unknown, and known too late." said Katniss. "She jests at scars that never felt a wound, but soft, what light through yonder window breaks?" said Peeta in response.

"How silver sweet sound lover's tongues by night, like softest music to attending ears." Katniss murmured, and smiled.

"Oh, swear not by the moon, th' inconstant moon that monthly changes in her circled orb, lest that thy love prove likewise variable."said Peeta.
"That which we call a rose, by any other word would smell as sweet." replied Katniss.

"Wilt though be gone? It is not yet near day, it was the nightingale and not the lark, that pierced the fearful hollow of thine ear."said Peeta, smiling at Katniss.

Then they knew it was time, Katniss poured some berries into the palm of Peeta's hand.
She looked up at him, as she measured out the berries, tears shining in her eyes."Thank you for the bread." she said.

Peeta squeezed her hand. "Thank me no thankings, proud me no prouds." he said.

"Past hope, past care, past help." said Katniss, raising the berries to her mouth. Peeta reached up and stopped her hand, then kissed her again. As he pulled away from her, he rolled the berries into his mouth.

Katniss caught him as he fell, she put his head on her knees and pushed his hair out of his face.
"Death that hath sucked the honey of thy breath, hath no power over thy beauty." she said.
Then she lifted her fistful of Nightlock up towards the sky, "For Prim, for Rue, for Panem, for the Mockingjays!" Katniss shouted, swallowing the berries.

I watched the Hunger Games, then stayed up late reading Romeo and Juliet because of a school essay.
My muse then took that and and ran...I hate her. Anyway, review and tell me what you think, was it horrible?
