It's All Coming Back to Me Now

"No, Tony"

There were nights when the wind was so cold
That my body froze in bed
If I just listened to it

"I said no, I don't need to go to the med bay," said Annie.

There were days when the sun was so cruel
That all the tears turned to dust
And I just knew my eyes were

Annie Rogers, also known as Captain America was trying very hard to not strangle an annoying Tony Stark; also known as Iron Man. Both of which were located at the new Avengers Tower after a long battle with Red Skull and Modok. Annie was still trying to real in everything that had happened in the past 24 hours. I was still hard to believe that the Avengers even came back to together, under the lead of Tony Stark no less. The said team was touring the new base along with their newest members, Sam Wilson, who also known as Falcon. And thou it was great to have the team back Annie wanted to take a moment to process that Red Skull was back as well with Modok by his side. Tony, however, decided that other things needed to be taken care of first.

I finished crying in the instant that you left

"I'm fine really." She repeated to him.

"You have no memory of what happened after you were teleported to their base" stated, Tony. "They could have-"

"The worst they did to me was that body swap," said Annie.

"Which you and the others fixed, and I'm grateful for that." She really was, it sent shivers down her spine.

However, Tony misinterpreted Annie's shiver.

"Cap, what's wrong, are you in pain?" he questioned.

"Oh, for pete sakes, Tony, I'm fine,"

"Just one checkup that's all I ask for," Annie shook her head and began to walk away.

"Forget it, Tony!"

"Cap, come back here! You are not allowed to leave the room until you agree with me!"

"God, Tony do you hear yourself? You're just as bad as when I first met you. She continued to walk down the hall as Tony chased after her.

She wasn't kidding about that either. When she first joined the team, Tony had always felt the need to protect her from every little thing he thought she couldn't handle. Not that she wasn't grateful for everything he and the team had done for her.

There were moments of gold

She was practically a fish out of water when she was unfrozen. They helped her get back on her feet. She didn't know where she is without them…without Tony. The travel of her thoughts was stopped when she felt something metal grab her around the wrist. She spins around to see Tony in his Iron Man suit.

"That is not fair," grumbled Annie.

"I don't care If I have to drag you there then so be it, " said Tony.

"I like to see you try," remarked Annie.

"I need to know you're okay," said Tony.

Annie felt her entire body slouch at that. She was too tired to fight him on this.

"Fine." The sooner she got this over with the sooner Tony would get off her back. Tony led her to the med bay, still holding onto her the entire time. When they finally reached the med bay, Tony made her sit on the examination table.

"Take off your shirt and lay down so Jarvis can do a scan of you," ordered Tony.

"Tony."

"Just do it."

Annie sighed and removed her white tank top, leaving her in her sports bra. She then laid down.

"Hold still."

"Just do it before I get older," joked Annie.

"Don't think that's possible with you," remarked Tony.

Jarvis then scanned her.

"Scan is clear sir," announced Jarvis.

"Yep everything looks good," agreed Tony.

"Told you," said Annie.

He walked over to where Annie was laying and leaned over her. She looks up at him he was staring down at her with his sad look on his face.

"I thought I lost you," he said.

"But you didn't." She sat up. "I'm right here, and we're all okay,"

"He's still out there," stated Tony. "Red Skull could attack anytime, and he's gathering forces. I don't think-"
