Salem set his back pack down in front of the living room door.

"Daddy, Mommy! I'm home!" He called. He knelt down and unzipped his bag, pulling out a construction paper cards.

Pip and Damien, Salem's fathers, walked into the living room.

"How was your day at school, Salem?" Damien asked, scooping up the child in his arms. Salem smiled sadly. "It was fine, Daddy… except…" Salem handed Pip the card. "We made father days cards to give to our daddies … and … the other kids picked on me!" he cried, burying his face into Damien's neck.

Pip and Damien looked at each other, frowns on both of their faces. Damien hugged Salem tighter as Pip patted his head.

"Don't worry about it, sweetie." Pip whispered. "They're picking on you because they don't know what it's like to have two dads, that all! It's only because they don't understand."

Salem lifted his head. "Y-You p-promise?" He muttered. Pip smiled at him, and nodded. Salem smiled back. "Okay! That makes me feel a lot better, mommy!"

"That's good, because it's time to eat your snack." Damien announced, kissing Salem on the nose.

Salem perked up, excitement shinning in his red eyes.

"Yay!" He exclaimed. "Let me down, daddy!" Salem began wriggling in Damien's arms. Damien chuckled, and set Salem down. He took off for the kitchen almost before his little feet hit the ground.

"He sure is excited." Pip laughed, walking towards the doorway that leads to the kitchen.

"Yeah I'm glad to see he's so happy with us." Damien murmured. Pip frowned playfully.

"Why wouldn't he be? He's got two of the greatest fathers in the world!"

"How do you know that, Pip?"

Pip shook his head.

"He tells us so every night."
