Amanda
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.
I turned and smacked my Spongebob alarm clock. Grabbing it in my hands, I was about to throw it out the window. However, like I do every morning, my eyes lingered to the small apple plant on my desk. I put the clock back. Maybe Angelina charmed this too? I didn't want to take chances.
I had just gotten dressed and was about to open my bedroom door when there was a rapping on the window. Stunned, I turned and saw Leo Fitzpatrick smiling. Giggling, I walked over to the window and opened it.
"Hi, Leo," I told him.
"Happy day until our 16th birthday!" he exclaimed.
Laughing, I gave him my hand and pulled him inside. Of course, he fell on his face. Again.
"Welp," I exclaimed, sitting next to him. "Think Angelina has anything planned for our sweet sixteen?"
We hadn't seen Angelina since the Grace thing, and I honestly was getting nervous.
"I dunno," Leo responded. "Let's just hope she doesn't freeze someone, or plant objects for us to find, or have us trapped in a time loop, or help someone with a list of things on their 12 birthday."
I couldn't help cracking up again.
"We should get to school," I told him. "I don't think we'll have another do over day if we skip first period, and tomorrow is Wednesday!"
"Yeah," Leo mused. "NOT enough time to think up an excuse."
I slipped beneath the covers of my bed, and set my alarm clock.
BEEP BEEP BEEP
I shut of my alarm clock, and groaned. I quickly checked the date on my phone. It was the next day. I checked Leo, Rory, Tara, and I's group chat. No reports of a frozen girl or mysterious objects. I checked the school calendar. Nothing out of the ordinary. Grinning to myself, I knew that for once this was going to be a normal birthday!
I spoke too soon. I heard a scream from outside my window. Racing to it, I noticed who the scream was coming from. Hanging on the branch, was a boy who looked like a Latino Santa's elf with dark curls. He was also wearing an army jacket, and hiking boots.
"HELP!" He cried.
I yanked open the window, and grabbed his hand, yanking him in the way I did Leo.
"Who are you?" I demanded.
"I'm Leo-"
"I don't know you," I told him.
"I don't know you either!" he exclaimed. "I'm Leo Valdez!"
