Ada
Elrond looked up at his best friend, his eyes sparkling, two precious bundles in his arms.
"I'm an ada! Can you believe it? I'm an ada!"
Ada
Two identical elflings ran down a corridor, giggling.
"Ada! Ada! There is a balrog chasing us!"
The lord of Imraldis smiled as he saw his seneschal Glorfindel racing down said corridor. He turned his attention back to the twins.
"You'd better run faster then, hadn't you?"
Ada
"Why did Nana have to go Ada? Why did she have to leave?"
The shaking form he held in his arms knew the answer to that question. All of his children did. That didn't make it any easier to understand. He knew it never would.
Ada
He watched as the adan slept, his chest rising and falling.
The child had no family except his mother, no home except for Imraldis.
Maybe he could find it in himself to become an Ada again.
Ada
"Ada, it hurts!" the child looked up at him with tear filled eyes. He had skinned his knee after a particularly nasty fall down a flight of stairs.
"Make it stop"
But he couldn't, he could only bandage up the cut and bring the adan back to his room.
He could not fix all hurts.
Ada
Lord Elrond watched at middle earth faded behind him.
There was no one to call him Ada where he was heading.
