Fighting Towards The End

By Mikomi Hatake

Author Notes: This is the prologue to my newest story. It is something way different from my previous works, and I would love to get some decent feedback on this. This will be a Jasper/Alice story but it will not involve vampires, its going to be something entirely different. Let me know what you think.

I never knew it would be like this. I always knew the two of us would face the world together, hand in hand, just as I had dreamed for so long. But he made one wrong decision and changed the entire outcome of our future. There was no turning back from then on. I was on my own, and I had to stop the inevitable from happening.

Ever since I was old enough to remember I have been 'blessed' with seeing glimpses of what the future will hold for humanity. I never told anyone of these visions, except for my younger sister Cynthia, and I swore her to silence. My parents just thought that I had a short attention span and that I would space out, and my teachers in school just ignored it. A majority of the time my visions were pointless and totally random, but as I got older the visions became more that just flashes of images, they became more precise. I could make out faces and voices as time went on.

I remember watching the destruction of our entire world years before it would actually happen. I watched in fragments as the government was overthrown and everything we had worked so hard to achieve was destroyed. These visions would keep me awake for days at a time. I couldn't even tell my own family of the horrors I had seen, the destruction that was to come to our planet. I went to school, did my chores, and pretended that everything was ok, but I knew otherwise. Something bad was going to happen, and I was the only one who could stop it.

I spent countless hours going over the images in my head trying to remember the times and places of the events that would soon unfold. I knew everything about the end of the world, everything except how we got there.
