The Wait

Three seasons, three girls. Starting with the last and ending with the first, these poems are a tribute to Danny's three major love interests. Despite their differences, they've all had to wait.

A/N: Poem 1/3 in what is basically just three poems about the girls in Danny's life. I posted this before, but it sucked, so I took it down, made a few changes, and have now reposted, what? Two months later?

The Wait

Sam

Though I can look into your eyes,

And believe that it is true,

I continue to think it wise

To find out more about you.

After all, there is so much a blush could mean,

The same for a shy smile,

And though I wish to be your one and only queen

I must wait for just a while.

Because I couldn't stand to have my heart broken

If it were not so,

And have my shattered veins be but a token

Of the way things did not go.

The pain that it would cause me

To lose you as a friend

Is why from your touch and love I flee

Though fate has no more strength to lend.

So I act as though nothing's wrong,

And hope you do the same,

And by the by I ever long

To hear you say my name.
