I was a man of God, pure of the slightest sin

I fought demons away, my beliefs at their peak

Until I turned into a savage beast, a freak

Struggling against this curse I felt I couldn't win

I existed against my will through starvation

Tried anything, defeated still, ever amiss

Until a deer felt of my teeth the lethal kiss

And this clear night lit me a way to salvation

Long after I made a promise to a mother

And learned to save, gaining children and a lover

Amazing happiness, by the graces of fate:

Edward and Bella with Emmett and Rosalie,

Jasper, Alice, Esme, our friends of Denali,

The brilliant Renesmee, half-named after my mate.
