Rain was pouring down as Hikari was making her way down the once crowded sidewalk. She had been going to meet Ken at the bus station seeing as how he came all the way from Tamachi just to meet up with her. She had gotten almost the whole way before rain began to pound down, the brunette gasping as the cold water pelted her porcelain colored skin.

It was so cold but at the same time almost refreshing. As it it was washing away all the bad things in her life, making her able to start again. With a smile she took a moment to just spread her arms and close her eyes, letting the drops rain down on her endlessly. It was a spur of the moment thing, making her forget that she had been rushing to the bus station only a few minutes prior.

A musical laugh broke through her thoughts, the absence of rain also assisting with that. She opened her eyes to see Ken holding an umbrella over himself and her though he looked like he had caught some of it himself. They were both drenched, causing her to giggle as she lowered her arms. Finally his voice broke through the quietness.

"Only you would be standing out in the rain, Hikari-chan…" Ken said, his voice full of adoration for the girl before her as he moved his free hand to rest on her damp cheek.
"I like the rain..it makes me feel like things can begin again. Like it can wash away all the bad things, Ichijouji-kun." She said as she leaned into the touch, enjoying the warmth.

"I think..I could use that too..A chance to begin anew. Will you take that step with me?" He asked, clicking the button that closed the umbrella. He lowered it down, awaiting her answer.
"Do you even have to ask?" She replied, looking into his eyes and smiling more warmly. She really was a light in the darkness.

"I think I like the sound of a new beginning with you, Hikari-chan.." He said before leaning forward and kissing her. It was their first kiss. A kiss in the rain.
