BPOV
I can do this. I can do this!
I took a deep breath and stepped onto the skateboard. It wobbled a bit, but that's not going to stop me! I pushed forward gently, moving a few feet.
"Come on, you can do this," I whispered. I tried again, pushing a bit harder. I went farther.
"One more time," with that, I went forward. I kept pushing, building up speed. Once I reached the hill, I placed my other foot on the board, balanced myself.
This was great! Why haven't I tried this before?
Because you're a klutz?!? The negative voice in my head yelled. Well you know what? I don't care!
I began to build up speed. The adrenalin was amazing! I loved this feeling. I laughed out freely, feeling the wind whip through my hair from behind me.
The scenery flew by in a blur…I couldn't see a thing. The diamond ring on my left hand sparkled in the light, sending vibrant colors through the air.
I concentrated on that for a bit when something caught my attention.
Rocks.
The road suddenly became extremely bumpy. I tried hard to keep my balance, but I knew it was no use.
One of my wheels got caught in a crack, sending me forward. I landed on my knees and hands. The sharp edge of the rocks cut open my jeans, slicing my skin.
The skateboard rolled gently beside me, as if it were mocking me. I pushed the stupid thing away while wincing at the sting. My new gashes hurt. It was one of those shock things. One second, your fine, the next….it hurts like hell.
I was about to stand up when I heard whistling. I looked up to see my husband, Edward Cullen, walking down the side walk carrying a basket. Once he saw me, he chuckled.
"I thought I would need this," he said before walking towards me. I stuck my tongue out at him, making him laugh harder.
"Hello love, would you like some help?" he asked me, clearly amused.
"no," I muttered. He raised an eyebrow at me. "That means yes," I sighed. He chuckled before pulling out a first aid kit. Damn him!
"Let me see the damage," he said, kissing me softly. Love him!
He gently rolled my jeans up, releasing my knees.
"Hmm," he murmured, opening the box. He pulled out a cloth and wiped away the blood. Once he was satisfied, he put the bloody cloth in a zip-lock bag. I raised my eyebrow at him.
"I don't want your blood to infect the other materials in the kit," he said simply. I rolled my eyes.
"Of course, doctor," I said with a fake British accent. He chuckled and pulled out a container from the basket. He opened it and pulled something out. Was that a….strawberry?
He ran the frozen fruit over my knees, making me shiver.
"Edward?" I asked. He smiled.
"Shush love," he reprimanded softly. He took my arms and ran the strawberry over my palms. I watched intently. What is this man doing?
He reached over and pulled out another strawberry. What's this one for? He reached up slowly and ran the strawberry over my lips. I moaned as it sent shocks through my body.
He pulled the strawberry away and leaned forward, his lips brushing against mine. He leaned forward again, kissing me softly. His hand came up to cup my cheek.
When he pulled away, he chuckled.
"What's so funny Mr. Cullen?" I asked. He smiled that crooked smile at me. My crooked smile.
"I warned you about the skateboard, love," he said softly, kissing me again.
Damn him.
So what'd ya think? I thought it was sweet. My friend was listening to her ipod when she threw it at me, saying I should listen to the song. It was about frozen strawberries on your knees. I don't remember the name of the song, but if you want me to look it up, let me know.
