Shattered Dreams
If you were to speak to me years ago when I was in high school or when I was a freshman in college, I wouldn't even have thought about going into the army.
I was a different person back then. Optimistic about the future, the rest of my life was already beginning. Graduate from college, get married, have two point five kids, then die knowing I made my own set of family. I thought that was going to be the rest of my life... then I stumbled onto my cousin's, Rafael's secret.
To know that extra-terrestrial life existed out in the universe... excited me. To say that I wasn't scared would be a lie, but there were fun moments as well. It took my mind off worrying about Rafael. Since Ratchet and I were in the medical field, we bonded over that. Raf had Bumblebee, Miko had Bulkhead and Jack and Arcee. I had the old doctor.
But then the fun all ended when that beast hurt Raf. If Megatron was willing to hurt anyone, including innocent lives to get what he wanted, he deserved to be taken down. Just hand me a gun, I'll bring him down all on my own. I may be with the medic team, but I can watch my back all on my own out in the field.
I didn't image my life to turn out this way. I thought my life would be… so different. But to know that other life forms exists in this universe, extra-terrestrial ones. I'm glad to have known that in my life time.
I truly am.
