Crimson Remembrance

The Raven

He leaned against the large edifice staring down at the paved sidewalk beneath him, distracted by the faint sound of the raven's cries brought him away from memories…He glanced at the raven, perched on top of a tree, mourning.

It was dusk and the sun has just began to set, as the high society airs flew by, so enraptured by their conversations as they strolled home, their arms entwined in an lover's embrace, as they laughed clearly amused by their day. His gaze followed the couple, but he couldn't find anything good about them instead of love and innocence, he saw their lies, deception, and betrayal…

It was all a show.

They didn't love each other, but they did it for the money. Humans are such simple minded creatures, who don't care for the important emotions that life offers. That was just one of the reasons that their death tolls increased. One couldn't even see his gaze hardened as he watched them, do the fedora hat that was covering his eyes.

"Haruka…"

His gaze softened as he heard her melodious voice, from behind him. "Yes, Juuri," he replied, before he bit his lip, those words came out harder than intended. Juuri saunters closer to him, before she turns facing him, her wide russet eyes, looking up to his slightly darker eyes. "Don't hide your eyes and smile like that, Haru-kun," she says affectionately, before continuing, "If you do that, I won't be able to gaze into your soul…nor will I be able to get an entrance to your soul..." She said tenderly, as she stretched on her tip toes and took the hat on off him, clutching it tightly

Haruka took the fedora hat from her hand, and put in on her face, covering her eyes as he smirked, "Juuri, then will you put this hat on your head…so the other men will not be able to gaze upon your wondrous soul."

"After all these years, you are as protective as ever." She chuckled, gazing adoringly at him, "As much as I would like to agree to that, but I must confess only half of it is true." She looked at him inquisitively, as he let out a small chuckle. "I have gotten to the point that I crave your company so much, I refuse to let anyone look at you in a lustful manner or in any other manner."

"I don't call it selfishness."

"Then what do you call it?"

"Love."

That was all she said as she stood on her tiptoes as she leaned in to kiss him softly.

He glanced at the tree again and smiled, the raven was cawing again, but this time in pleasure, Haruka took note of the other raven beside him, snuggled against him, and watched the ravens caw, singing a tune of love.

Juuri entwined her arm in his, locked in a tight embrace, as they strolled across the street in silence, as the two society airs watched them, entranced by the love that surrounded the couple, in front of them. They watched as the silence between those two said more, than they have ever said to each other as they strolled across the boulevard, as the ravens gently cawed, a lullaby as night fell into the distance.

AN-So...how was it? I am not ready to do a fan fic on them...I can't do an entire story on them, so I rather stick with drabbles for the moment. Not so sure on how I wrote the ending, but...It was the best I could do at moment's notice.
