As The rain lashed down like whips falling from Celestia's night sky, everyone tucked into their beds, safe and sound. Three ponies are seen running towards a hut in the middle of the woods. Not too far behind, a beast is seen chasing them, to be more specific, a wild sabre tooth lynx named Predator was chasing the couple and their young son through the woods.
"HURRY..." The brick orange male stallion shouts to the two behind him, the female hot on her husbands heels, while her son, was having a hard time keeping up and maintaining his magic on the bundle of towels which contained his little brother. He was only 3 years old but he had to run for his life as he got a glimpse of the lynx chasing them, making him put his hoof on the gas.
"Papa, I can't keep going."
Moon Rock looked back, and good job too.
"OH NO YOU DON'T!"
With a brick orange beam from his horn, the lynx had to cover it's eyes as Moon Rock had shot the beast right in the left eye, blinding it and making it even madder. It was enough time for him to grab his struggling son and swing him and his youngest boy onto his back and put his hoof down and catch his wife up.
Into the Center of the Woods
With what he was looking for in sight, he saw the barrier and made a headfirst dive through it, followed by his wife who immediately ran for the hut door and frantically knocked upon the door before she shouted.
"DIZZY OPEN UP, ITS LUNA AND MOON ROCK WITH THE KIDS."
The sounds of their pursuer got closer as more trees snapped in the beasts wake. The male soon replaced his wife and knocked even harder before the one known as Dizzy opened the door for them. When he saw the cause of their grief running into the barrier, trying to get in. He shut the door and turned towards the male who was prepared to have his friend send them away.
"I see this just isn't one of your friendly family visits."
The creature asks his oldest friend, only to have Moon Rock shake his head solemnly to the Draconeques. Looking down at his cloven hoof, Dizzy noticed the colt by the females hooves. He now held onto a bundle of cloth with his magic as the red hue emitted from his horn. As he handed the foal to Dizzy without hesitation, the creature looked on confused before asking.
"What in Tarturas is going on here?"
The male shushed the creature from speaking any louder. As he looked out of the window to see the thing chasing the couple was looking around for the two before sniffing around, trying to find the barriers weak point. Making the young colt nervous as he asked his dad.
"Daddy what's going on?"
Moon Rock looked at his young son with a sigh before ruffling his mane, knowing an explanation was in order, Moon Rock made eye contact with Dizzy before he spoke.
"As of now, the killer known as Predator is chasing me and my family down. He is one of the rare ones who escaped the princess' death penalty and he is after me as I was the stallion who arrested him for his murders in Vale."
Luna Stone looked on in horror at her husbands explanation before he looked outside to see the beast still prowling outside. Being ever curious, Dizzy took up the small foal in his arms from Night Fang's magic before stroking his forehead with his thumb. With a smile, he asked.
"Does your little boy have a name Luna?"
The female nodded. As she walked over to Dizzy and the foal she called her son, a light teal glow moved the blanket to reveal dark green hair and leaf green eyes looking confused at his surroundings before his eyes settled on his mother, who looked at the foal lovingly before uttering the little ones name to the creature beside her.
"His name is Loki...Loki Moonstone."
Luna says with a smile to her little boy, who by this point was now fast asleep in Dizzy's arms. Their moment of serenity was soon interrupted. As Predator had smashed right through the barrier protecting the hut before attacking head on. Causing Moon Rock to stood in front of his wife before the thing got through. With a quick in take of air through his nose, he shouts.
"Luna, my love, GET NIGHT FANG AND LOKI TO SAFETY, DISCORD GO WITH HER."
Luna tries to speak some sense into her husband but Discord held her back as he prepared a teleportation spell ready to go. As the husband looked at his wife, friend and two kids one last time. Discord teleported them out of the hut, leaving the male alone in the structure which crumbled further. With bravado in spades. he antagonized the beast further.
"COME ON THEN YOU BASTARD, YOU WANT ME, YOU GOT ME"
Like wood being broken, Predator smashed open the front of the hut with one final swing. As he stood full over his small unicorn opponent who charged a brick orange light on his horn and to attack the beast who roared loudly in the pony's face. With one last act. The two charged at each other with hooves and clawed paws striking each other. As quick as it happened and with one swift snap of Predators jaws. The male went limp in the beasts mouth before being eaten whole and having his power absorbed by the beast. With a roar of victory echoing throughout Equestria, somewhere, A crying Luna could be heard. When the beast finished with his victory roar. He caught the scent of the dead unicorns wife. With a bloody smirk. He teleported using the absorbed magic.
With Discord and Luna Stone
As the rain fell lightly when they arrived in Canterlot at the castle of the Princess. Luna Stone, with Discord in tow holding little Loki in his arms while the unicorn known as Night Fang was clung to his mothers leg while they walked. With tears soaking the fur under her eyes, Luna noticed her oldest son and tried to comfort him. But no matter how much love Luna showed her little boy. He was still scared for his father. He was quickly calmed by the presence of the creature he called Uncle Dizzy who tried to make him smile. As Luna knocked on the castle door, she didn't know how to tell her best friend that she had to leave town. When the door to castle opened. One of the maids answered, she soon ran when she saw Discord. She was immediately replaced by the presence of Princess Celestia who looked worried at the two in front of her.
"Discord, Luna, what are you doing here so late?"
Celestia asked in concern. As she looked at her friend Luna, she noticed the tear streaks making her gasp lightly in worry.
"Luna, what happened, where's Moon Rock?"
With a saddened look, Luna had to cling to Discord for comfort as the Draconeques spoke for her.
"Moon Rock perished trying to protect his family from a criminal who escaped your death sentence."
Celestia's heart broke. When she looked at Luna, she couldn't help but hug her friend. When the two disengaged. The midnight blue unicorn nudged Night Fang towards the princess who looked at the 3 year old colt in surprise before indicating to little Loki as Discord handed over Loki to Celestia leading to shock on the ruler's face before Luna begged Celestia.
"Please Tia, I'm a dead pony. As their godmother I need you to watch over my boys as I am no longer able to do so with this beast on my trail, please I beg you. Watch over my boys."
Celestia looked at the two boys, one being held by her magic and the other looking fearfully. With decision made, the princess nodded. Night Fang shook his head in disbelief at what had been decided. As his mother turned around to walk away. He ran, avoiding Discord's grasp and hugged his mother tightly with tears streaming down his eyes. Luna Stone tried to pry her son from her foreleg but couldn't budge the 3 year old who hugged even tighter to his mother.
"No don't go mommy, don't go like daddy, please stay."
Luna Stone felt her heartbreak. Her son, her first born baby boy, was crying his heart out to her. Giving in, she pulled him in for a hug while letting the tears stream down her face.
"You and Loki will always be in my heart Night Fang. Maybe one day I will return. But for now, I want you to be brave for your little brother and be good for your godparents."
With what she wanted to say, said, Luna kissed her sons forehead goodbye before setting off leaving a crying Night Fang with his brother, godmother and uncle, with one last act of defiance, he shouted
"MOMMY, NO, MOMMY, COME BACK, MOMMY PLEASE!"
Luna really wanted to go back, tell her son she would stay and protect them and be with her babies. but she had to go to keep the two safe. Making the toughest choice with tears in her eyes and a heavy heart. She teleported away leaving a crying colt with hoof out and heart in his mouth. When Celestia looked down at the colt, she noticed he had hugged closer to Celestia for comfort.
Later That Night
Once Loki was tucked safely into his cot and sound asleep next to the princesses' bed. Celestia decided to check on Night Fang in the room next to hers. But as she exited the room, She only had a split second to avoid a splintered door hitting her. She saw with her own two eyes the bedroom door blown off its hinges, The colt in question caused Celestia to panic. As the amazing power surge she felt coming from his anger and sadness as things got hairy in his room. With quick thinking, she made herself known.
"NIGHT FANG STOP BEFORE YOU HURT YOURSELF."
The colt paid no mind as his destruction continued. Before it could spread any further. Celestia clasped her hoofs tightly round the colt in a hug. He tried to break free but he ultimately gave in. As the colt was reduced to silent tears, Celestia soothed his aching heart with a lullaby she used to sing to her sister Princess Luna when they were children. When Night Fang finally found slumber, Celestia decided on letting him sleep in her room that night. As she watched over the two brothers before climbing into bed herself not knowing that one day, these two would be heroes.
