Make Forever Start Tonight
"It's one of those moments isn't it?" Beck asked Jade as she laid in his arms. They had just gotten out of prom and were lying in a hotel room.
"It's just I think of how it is now," she starts.
"And it seems too perfect to last forever," he finishes having heard this complaint so often.
"I think of the way you and I are-"
"And it seems like we should be too young for this to be real-"
"And I've tried to see past this moment-"
"But it's too perfect and everything else fades away-"
"And I try to imagine us growing old together-"
"But you just can't see us old and wrinkly-"
"But then I try to imagine life without you-" Jade was near tears again like she always was on these talks.
"And it's black and void-"
"And meaningless-"
"And somehow you know this is where you always want to be-"
"But no one else will understand-"
"But no one else needs to understand-"
"But support is important in any relationship-"
"But support from each other is enough-" Beck recounted.
"Yet somehow it's never enough-"
"Yet at the same time it has to be-"
"And I find myself falling for the old lie of-"
"You're too young to know what love is-"
"But I think to myself if I don't know-"
"How does anyone know-"
"And if no one knows-"
"Who can say this isn't love?" He looked into her eyes. "Tell me what you're scared of Jade West.
She looked at him hopelessly. "Losing you," she whispered.
"Then I have a challenge for you," he reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful diamond ring because he thought they might have this conversation. "Make forever start tonight," she smiled, a real genuine smile and kissed him.
