Title: In Loving Memory

Summary: Tyler's burial is today and Reid brings his guitar. Song is by The Jamestown Story. (Y'all should definitely listen to the song while reading the story. I think it would make more sense to listen to it. now onto the story….

Today was a somber day.

It rained but it didn't stop anyone from coming to the service.

There were so many people there. Especially from Spenser's. Even Aaron Abbot and Kira came to pay their respects. Aaron had even apologized to Reid and to Tyler for all the times he would make fun of their relationship.

Reid stood by Tyler's mom, she really needed the support. Caleb stood by Sarah and Pogue stood with Kate. Both girls were crying silently.

This boy was loved.

The priest began to speak.

"Today we gather here to send our beloved Tyler off. A cherished child in the eyes of God. And he knows that he will be sorely missed. If at anyone at this time wants to speak, please do so."

Caleb gripped Reid's shoulder, "You can do this." The older boy assured him. Reid looked at him with his ice blue eyes and grabbed his guitar.

"I want to play a song. Music was one of Tyler's favorite things in the world. And I think he would have loved this song."

Reid sat on a chair near Tyler's casket.

He began to play a few chords then he began to sing. It was sad and heartbreaking. The song brought a few fresh tears out of everyone.

Yesterday was full of tears, knowing death has just been here

All was lost but not forgot, the pain controls my every thought

A new day's battle has begun, all was lost and nothing's won

I can't wait to see the day, when the tears all go away...

I miss you; I kissed you, when we laid you in your grave

I need you to believe you; things were meant to be this way...

Today came with shattered dreams; everything's not what it seems

Don't think death won't come get you, cause it will lives misconstrued

Though my battle's just begun, I'm dropping arms and going to run

I can't wait to see the day, when these painful tears all go away...

Reid began to cry but he kept singing. He never looked away from that casket. But at that point, it stopped raining and the sun began to shine out. He knew that Tyler was watching him.

I miss you; I kissed you, when we laid you in your grave

I need you to believe you; things were meant to be this way...

I miss you; I kissed you, when we laid you in your grave

I need you to believe you; things were meant to be this way...

I did nothing at all, it's all my fault you're gone

Your face on my wall, it tells it all, you will live on...

I did nothing at all, it's all my fault you're gone

Your face on my wall, it tells it all, you will live on...

He finally finished and just outright broke down. "I can't believe he's gone." He whispered. Everyone began to head off, leaving what was left of the covenant. Tyler's mom had stood up and walked over to Reid, holding onto him. "He loved you and you know he appreciates the song. Let's go home."

Reid stood up, taking the guitar. But then he stopped. "I think…that he would have wanted this." Reid opened the casket and placed the guitar next to Tyler, bending slightly forward to kiss the boy on his forehead.

"I made a mistake. I will always love you." Reid whispered. Reid closed the casket and walked away with Caleb, Pogue, Sarah, and Kate, never looking back.

"I will always love you too. Always and Never." A voice on the wind spoke softly, catching Reid's attention. He looked around for the source, only seeing a small glow of light disappearing. Reid knew that he was forgiven.
