FALLOUT: CHRONICLES OF THE NEW VEGAS CONFEDERACY

HEY EVERYBODY! HOW ARE YA!? JACK HERE! I've finally posted the first chapter to my first Sequel fic and I am so excited! This story will focus more on the kids of the characters featured in Rise of the New Vegas Confederacy. This is because they are to play a significant role in the future of this story.

Disclaimer: I do not own Fallout, any Mods for Fallout New Vegas that I mention/reference to, or the oc's of other writers such as Giratina Zero and Batmarcus. Those belong to their respective creators. I do Own Ryusuke Kenta, John Kenta, Lucia of the Twisted Hairs, and any other personal OC's I add to the story.

Summary: The Second Battle for Hoover has been one and the NVC now controls the Mojave. This is the tale of the new generation.

CHAPTER 1

It has been three years since the Second Battle for Hoover Dam, and the New Vegas Confederacy, or NVC, now stretches from its point of Origin in the Mojave, all the way to Wyoming. It even includes the former NCR fort that was captured by the Legion, Fort Abandon. Kenta saw it fit to keep the name the Legion gave it since the sole purpose of the garrison there was to keep an eye on the Legion. The minute the Legion turns their attention to the NVC, the men and women posted there are to retreat to Hoover Dam.

Raul sat on the edge of the bed in the room he and Beatrix Russell were using at the Atomic Rangler. Time had not diminished his need for... companionship, and Beatrix was one of only two women he knew that didn't have any issue with sleeping with him... the other being Calamity up at Jacobs Town. But Beatrix was special to him: she's a kindred spirit who saw the world the same way he did. "You know, it's a shame you don't come by more often cowboy," Beatrix told him as she came up behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck, "I do enjoy your company."

"And I enjoy yours," he replied, "But I've got a duty to the Confederacy. It's my vast experience that helps prepare those boys and girls for what is to come."

Beatrix smiled at that, "You've told me that for the last three years Raul."

"Well someone's gotta point those kids in the right direction." They shared a laugh before Raul got up, "I'll try to stop by again sometime soon."

"As long as it's sooner than a month this time," countered Beatrix.

Raul chuckled, "No promises."

Two small children under the age of 3 ran around Westside: one a young boy with fair skin and Reddish-brown hair, the other a girl with chocolate colored skin and black hair with little braids here and there. Their names are John Kenta, and Lucia of the Twisted Hairs.: the children of the two couriers who helped found the New Vegas Confederacy.

Their parents were on business in Westside due to the citizens of Westside worrying about the Scorpion Gang based in the Monte Carlo Suites due south of their town... unfortunately, the children didn't know that, and ventured too close to the old hotel. As a result, the gang member keeping watch grabbed the two and dragged them into the Hotel. "Hey Yvette," he called out to the gang leader, "look what I've got."

Yvette smirked when she recognized the two children as John Kenta and Lucia of the Twisted Hairs. "Looks like we got ourselves a payday boys... prepare to move out; we're heading to Bonnie Springs."

Bonnie Springs has become the sight of a sizeable coalition of Raiders consisting of Vipers, Jackals, and Fiends with the Scorpions as the eye on Vegas. They knew they'd need the additional numbers to make the NVC Leadership more willing to pay the ransom.

Ryusuke, Ulysses, and Cass walked out of Westside and started going towards the Monte Carlo Suites to deal with the Scorpions when they noticed the man who would typically be standing guard wasn't there. Kenya drew his Ranger Sequoia, Cass Maria, and Ulysses brought out his SMG as they entered the building. To their surprise, it was deserted. "Think they got wise and head for Bonnie Springs," asked Cass.

Before Ryusuke could answer he saw a note pinned to the wall. And immediately began to growl in anger. Cass looked at the note and began to cry. Ulysses took and his expression darkened, "Looks like the Coalition does have a death wish."

"Get the Desert Rangers and the Great Khans on the Radio," the Courier ordered, "I want reinforcements from Ranger Station Foxtrot and Black Mountain Relay Station ASAP."

Mark and Emily were at Black Mountain Relay Station when the call came in and immediately volunteered for the job. Two other Desert Rangers also volunteered.

Papa Khan received word that The Coalition Forces had kidnapped John and Lucia and grabbed 20 of his best fighters for the Assault on Bonnie Springs.

John and Lucia were kept in the old Saloon under constant guard. From four individuals: a Viper, a Jackal, a Fiend, and Yvette herself. "You kids are gonna get us 50,000,000 caps for your safe return," she said with a sinister grin.

"Our daddy's are gonna kick all your asses," John said with a heated glare.

Yvette was caught off guard by the intensity of said glare: it reminded her of the time she'd met the boy's father.

Ryusuke, Ulysses, and Cass met up with Mark and Emily's group just outside of Vault 19. Papa and his group linked up with the Four Desert Rangers from Ranger Station Foxtrot just north of the Target destination. "We wait until nightfall," stated Kenta, "That way we can use the darkness to cover our movements."

By the time night came, ten men from Special Stealth Unit known as Shadow Company trained by Ulysses himself had also arrived. Based in the former NCR Correctional Facility, they had run for three hours straight to participate in the coming battle. Shadow Company is often referred to as the Silent Death since it is armed with a variety of weapons geared towards stealth and are trained in the Arts of Assassination, Sabotage, and Reconnaissance: if it can be silenced, then you better believe they'll use it. Their Standard Issue equipment consists of a Fully Modded Sniper Rifle, a silenced 12.7mm SMG, a Silenced .45 Auto Pistol, Time Bombs, Combat Knives, and a Black Gecko-Backed Leather Armor Reinforced. They are the pinnacle of stealth tactics in the NVC Military.

Mark had decided to take three Rangers and the Commanding Officer of Shadow Company and sneak into the town with the help of some Stealth Boys. They were getting into position to hit the Coalition from behind while the main attack force hit them from the front, while the Great Khans hit them from north and Shadow Company covers the Southern Flank. Mark would then infiltrate the town alongside Captain Donavan, the commanding officer of Shadow Company, in an attempt to locate the kids and get an idea of the enemy's numbers. Once that is done, the attack can commence. Mark and Donavan were somewhat surprised to see so many children were the Coalition Camp: at least one third of their population are children. 'I really shouldn't be surprised,' Mark thought to himself, 'It's not like they have to actually control their urges to fuck.' He was actually wondering why none of the women left... then he realized that they didn't have much choice.

John and Lucia were kept in different rooms in the Saloon because Yvette believed that the two might escape if they were kept together. John was kept in the men's restroom and Lucia in the women's, allowing them to talk to each other through the wall.

"Hey Luci," John called to his friend, "What do want to do when you grow up?"

"I want to lead the Shadow Company like my daddy does," she replied, "what about you?"

"I don't know," he replied, "Mom says I could be anything I want, and there are just so many things I could do."

Before Lucia could respond, they heard four rather loud thuds. "John, what's happening," the girl asked in a panicked voice.

The boy pressed his ear against the door when he heard the sound of someone playing with the lock. That's when he realized that they were being rescued. He stood back as the door opened to reveal a man with Brown Hair, Grey Eyes and tanned skin wearing a Duster with a Desert Camo pattern on it and a Desperado Cowboy Hat. He knew from experience that Desert Camo was something worn specifically by the Desert Rangers.

"John, my name is Mark Frey, I'm with the Desert Rangers," the man said to him, "I'm here with Captain Donavan to get you and Lucia out of here."

John smiled and nodded before saying, "Ok, so what's the plan?"

Mark brought out a Stealth Boy and placed it on young Kenta's head, "We're going to use the Stealth Field generated by the Stealth Boy's to sneak out of here. Once we reach the place where me an my group have setup, we'll let your father know what the situation is."

John nodded as Mark picked him up and activated the Stealth Boy. Donavan did the same with Lucia and they snuck back to the Ridge they setup on just behind the Saloon.

Once there, Donavan got on the portable two-way radio and began to inform Ryusuke of the Situation. John looked at Mark and asked, "If you're a Desert Ranger, why don't you wear that cool armor?"

Mark smiled and said, "I've never really been a fan of wearing armor, that's all."

"Why?"

"Because it slows me down," he replied, "It may not be by much, but in the heat of combat, every second counts."

"But doesn't the armor offer better protection?"

Mark shrugged his shoulders, "Yeah, but I like to live dangerously."

XxX

Ryusuke just got off the Radio with Donavan and now had to make a tough call: do they go through with the attack and risk the lives of innocent children, or do they call off the attack and risk the coalition coming for revenge. Kenta ran his hands through his auburn hair before picking up the Radio. "All units, prepare to pull out," he said calmly, "We got what we came for, and I have no intentions of putting the lives of children at risk... Either return to your appropriate base or head for the Yangtze Compound."

"Right Away Chief," was echoed from each commanding officer.

(AN: for those who have Fallout New Vegas on PC, download the Yangtze Compound Mod from Nexus Mods if you want to know what this looks like)

The Yangtze Compound was more than just a fortified position at the Yangtze Memorial: it also has a underground complex that all the NVC leaders will be located in the Event of a large scale invasion... the reasons for this are strategic than one might think: due to the presence of each Political figure in the NVC, the enemy is likely to focus the bulk of their forces on Yangtze, giving the other NVC Military assets a chance to flank the enemy military and create a hammer and anvil that would either result in surrender, or total annihilation.

The Yangtze Compound has walls on three of the four sides... the one side is cut off by the natural obstruction in that area. The walls are lined with Sandbags, and Mark VI Laser Turrets supplied by the Neo-Brotherhood. The Front gate is guarded by Two Sentry Bot Mark VI's from the Big Empty that are equipped with two shoulder mounted Red Glare Rocket Launchers, a Minigun in its right arm, and a Gatling Laser in its left. Alongside them are four Securitron's running the Mark VI OS developed by the Think Tank, and Six Protectron Mark VI's. The Compound is garrisoned by troops from every faction who has joined the NVC... That being said, over half of the troops Garrisoned at the compound are Desert Rangers. This is because the Desert Rangers are the most Predominant Military Force in the NVC: They have Troops at each Outpost throughout the NVC. Kenta saw it fit to fortify and garrison a variety of Key Locations: The Emergency Service Railyard, the Repconn Test Site, the old Legion Raid Camp, Nipton, and even the old Powder Gang Camps: There are at least three Desert Rangers at each outpost.

The Reason why the Desert Rangers have such a sizable presence is due to people's desire to be a Desert Ranger, and while only a third of those who try to become a Desert Ranger actually succeed, the remaining two thirds are spread between the other military branches in the NVC. If one were to do the math, they'd find the Desert Rangers account for 40% of the NVC's Military Might.

The NVC Army, Great Khans, Boomers, Neo-Enclave, and Neo-Brotherhood have also committed a sizable number of Trooper to the goal of Garrisoning the various outposts in NVC, whereas the Followers of the Apocalypse have sent Doctors to each outpost and Military Base to insure that the troops have proper medical care.

As for the existing Fortified areas, the ones to be given the most improvements were Camp Guardian, Camp Nelson, and Camp Forlorn Hope. Guardian is now garrisoned by a force of twenty NVC Troopers and ten Desert Rangers, and its defenses have been bolstered by multiple Mark VI Laser Turrets, making the already easily defended location all but impenetrable.

Forlorn Hope and Nelson had proper walls erected around them to boost their defensive capabilities, and again, Mark VI Laser Turrets were added to the defenses of both encampments.

Ryusuke sat in the Abandoned Shack going over the Blueprints of the Yangtze Compound when Cass walked in. "What's eating at you," she asked her husband.

Kenta sighed, "We almost lost our son today... I was so angry that I actually considered going through with our initial plans when I found out there were children in Bonnie Springs."

"But you didn't," the Mojave Caravan Queen said reassuringly as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, "And you're a better man for it."

There was suddenly a knock on the door and they heard John ask, "May I come in?"

The couple smiled as the mother said, "Yeah, you can come in John."

John walked in and sat on the bed behind the Desk his father setup. "You know how you said I can be anything I want to be when I grow up," he asked, "Well, I've decided I want to be a Desert Ranger."

Ryusuke and Cass were surprised by this: becoming a Desert Ranger was not easy, and only the best made the cut... that being said, John is their son, so he should be able to pull it off when he's older. "Alright," Kenta said with a Chuckle as he reached into his desk and pulled out a beautiful black .357 with ornate gold etchings, a polished ivory handle inlaid with the clubs symbol, and the word 'Lucky' engraved on the silver plate on the ejector tube. "This is Lucky," he told his son, "I've kept it for a long time and have grown particularly fond of it... If you are still determined to be a Desert Ranger by the time you are ten years old, then you can have it." He then got up and went to the gun cabinet where pulled out a BB gun with the inscription 'Abilene Kid ~Limited Edition~ 1 of 200' on the stock. "In the meantime, you can practice with this."

John was shell-shocked by receiving his first gun... He wasn't expecting this at all when he told his parents what he planned to do with his life. He examined the gun before smiling and saying, "Thank you daddy."

Ryusuke chuckled, "I wouldn't even have it if it wasn't for your mother."

The boy hugged both his parents before running off to show Lucia what they gave him. "That kid is gonna be one hell of a Ranger one day," stated Cass.

Kenta chuckled, "You got that right."

XxX

While John was looking for Lucia he ran into Mark again. "Hey Ranger Mark, look what my daddy gave me!"

Mark smiled at the kid and said, "That's pretty cool, any particular reason why he gave it to you?"

"Because I said I want to join the Desert Rangers when I'm older and so he gave me this to practice with," the boy replied, "If I still want to be a Desert Ranger by the time I'm ten, he'll give me a revolver."

"I look forward to the day you join up," Mark said with a smile.

John then asked, "Why did you join the Desert Rangers?"

"Originally, I was against the idea," he told the boy, "But Ranger Chief Emily Ghost Frey is my wife and she had her heart set on making me a Desert Ranger." Mark chuckled, "Ah, the things people do for the ones they love."

"I'm not sure I understand."

"Your parents mounted a rescue operation because they love you," Mark explained, "Love is a powerful emotion that can override even the strongest sense of logic… That's why you need to make sure the girl you like can take care of herself." John tilted his head in confusion making the Ranger chuckle, "You'll get it someday." And with that, he walked off to find his wife.
