Someday
The ringing of the bells is being heard throughout the castle castle grounds. A sorcerer has been found guilty of using magic. The knights are searching for him everywhere. At last, they found him. He's just a child but still he was sentenced to death by the tyrant king who believes that all magic is evil. The child only helped an old woman to get better because of her incurable disease, he had done nothing wrong.
Merlin was watching from afar, wanting to help the child but he cannot do so. He feared for his life that maybe one day, he will be the one who will be burnt at the stake and no one will save him. But he cannot be a coward; he must remain by the prince's side no matter what happens, he will protect his destiny.
His friendship with the prince is more valuable than any other thing to him. He cannot let the prince down, he will do everything for his sake. He will even give his life for him if needed.
He heard the voice of the boy calling to him, asking him to help him. But he cannot do it, he cannot risk revealing himself. The prince asked him to be very careful and not to let anyone know that he is a sorcerer. So, he did not do anything and let the boy died.
Merlin was grateful that the Prince accepted him for what he is. He promised to himself that he will do everything for his prince. At first, it was only friendship. But as time passed by, it grew into love. A love for a friend that soon grew to being the love of his life.
Maybe, the dragon's words are real. Maybe Arthur was really his destiny, the other side of the same coin. But what can he do about his feelings? He's just a mere servant and Arthur is the prince. His feelings will remain unnoticed until maybe someday, Arthur will fall in love with him just like he fell for him.
