I'm trying to force myself to write more impromptu-ly, so I posted this on fic promptly on dreamwidth a few days ago. Reposting it here for others to read, and because I have this ache in my back that makes me just want to do something. That feeling of 'get up and go!'; or maybe it's just my posture. So here's this short little drabble-ish thing.

Oh right, the prompt was 'post it notes' Posted by someone with the user name of 'peaceful sands' sending out my thanks to him(?) and 'tyger' if they see this.. Characters belong to square enix and/or their respective owners. Enjoy. Perhaps very minor spoilers, but so minor they don't matter.

Zack's fridge was littered with post-it-notes and other scraps of paper held by fridge magnets. The door was covered in a myriad of neon colours, occasionally broken by the odd white Shin-ra standard issue post-it-notes. The mass of notes was collected over time, some dating back to more than 2 years. Their messages where varied, from messy handwritten reminders such as 'Write home' or 'mission briefing Tuesday', to somewhat legible lists for grocery shopping, sword maintenance items, and a seemingly out of place one for a flower cart. It should also be noted that somewhere among the mess were notes to 'spike Heidegger's coffee' and 'help Reno braid Tseng's hair'. When Cloud first visited his place, his first question was when Zack had last cleared his fridge door. He soon learned that no one, not even the owner of said fridge door, knew the answer.

Sephiroth wasn't a big fan of post-it-notes; he acknowledged the fact they were helpful for certain occasions, but he would never use them. Although sometimes, he'd find one on his fridge door, often telling him that he was out of chocolate or sweets of the like. It's didn't take much to figure out who had finished them, from the barely decipherable handwriting he was used to reading reports in. Although the fact that he never kept a stack of post it notes anywhere in his home made him wonder if the bouncy first carried them around with him. He mentally shrugged as he deposited another into his bin, it wouldn't surprise him if the man did. Idly, he wondered if Angeal also had a similar predicament to his.

Genesis on the other hand, kept a customized stack of post-it-notes on his bedside table. They were dark red, with a gold border and with LOVELESS in cursive at the bottom right corner. He kept it there for the times when sudden inspirations for LOVELESS that came right before he fell asleep, the small stack was often finished within a month.

Tifa had tried using post-it-notes to communicate with Cloud while maintaining the 7th heaven bar in the Edge. She soon found out he wasn't around enough for them to be of any use.

Tseng never found use for the notes. As a Turk, he had learned to develop a near perfect photographic memory.

The same could not be said for Reno, whose usage of post-it-notes was almost as bad as Zack's. Although unlike Zack, the re-head knew better than to leave evidence of pranks lying around so openly.

When Yuffie explained the use of post-it-notes to Vincent, she trying to convince the man that during his slumber, he had missed one of mankind's greatest inventions. To this day, she has yet to succeed.
