What The Water Gave Me

The water was always changing, stirring, and moving. It could be calm or wild as a raging storm. The water was apart of him, the connection with his element was beyond anything this world would ever know. He could feel the life in every river, lake, or ocean; he felt at home. It was amazing to be able to feel that connection once again. When his bending was stripped away by that monster, he felt as if all life itself was gone. But now he felt alive again, he felt alive because of her.

One thing that he loved was that the water was apart of her as well. The water was in the color of her eyes, deep azure hues that he could get lost in forever. He would never get tired of looking into those eyes, admiring everything that the water gave him. She was his never ending ocean blue, the sound of the rain falling, the waves crashing, the water licking the shores; she was what the water gave him.

He now sat quietly on the docks of Yue bay, listening to the sound of the water as the stars shined bright over the city. Suddenly he heard the familiar sound of heavy footfalls of a certain polar bear dog and the sound of her master jumping from the saddle, making her way over to him. A small smile graced his features as she sat down beside him silently, hanging her legs over the edge of the dock with his.

"You're out late," she stated, looking out to the water as well.

"Just listening to the sounds of the water," he replied in a quiet voice.

She nodded her head in understanding. She knew why he was out here, and she didn't blame him. Being able to sense your element and being near it would always calm that nagging feeling that it still might be gone. Unconsciously she began to bend little droplets of water all around them.

Tahno smirked as she bent the water around them, he reveled in the feeling of the cool mist hitting his pale skin. In this moment nothing existed but Korra, the water, and himself.

You know, Korra, I'm a really lucky guy," Tahno began, breaking the comfortable silence between them.

Korra gave him a funny look as she heard his words. "And why is that?"

"Because of what the water gave me, obviously," he said in that smug sure of himself tone.

"What did it give you, Tahno?" Korra couldn't help but flash him a smirk, still bending the water drops around them.

Tahno looked over to her, eyes locking instantly on one another. He gave her a genuine warm smile before he spoke.

"It gave me you…"

Korra's bending ceased as his words sunk in, the water falling peacefully onto both of them. Tahno brought a pale hand up to cup her tan cheek, bending away the water droplets on her face. No more words were spoken as he leaned in and captured her lips with his, Korra returning his kiss almost instantly. The full moon shined bright over both of them in their embrace, the waves now crashing heavily against docks as their hands laced together.

She was the greatest gift the water ever gave him.
