Hair Color
"Come on Flash. We all agreed to this level of trust." Wonder Woman said as she sat at the round table in the Watch Tower with her teammates around her.
"I don't know." Flash drawled out as he nervously played with the edge of his mask.
"What are worried about? Don't you trust us?" Hawkgirl asked.
"Of course I do, but. . .I don't know." He sighed as he looked around at his unmasked teammates. Even Batman agreed to this, and boy was Wally surprised to see The Bruce Wayne under the Dark Knight's cowl.
"Flash, we have all sworn an oath to keep each other's secret identities, you are no different." Superman reasoned.
"Besides," J'onninterjected, "Being able to recognize each other in their civilian garb may prove useful one day."
Wally sighed, he couldn't argue with the Martian. "Right," he said as he slipped his fingers underneath his mask and lifted it away from his face. He let it hang on his back as he shook his head to ruff up his bright red hair.
The other league members were shocked to say the least. All they could do was stare at the youngster.
Flash felt like a cornered cat under everyone's intense gaze (all but Batman of course). He swallowed hard and lifted up his hand, "Umm. . .hi." he said blushing a little. "I'm Wally West." After another moment of silence he dropped his hand and asked a little bit annoyed, "What you all looking at?"
"Nothing Fla. . .uh, Wally." Wonder Woman said with a gentle smile.
"This was just. . ." Hawkgirl struggled with the right word.
"Unexpected," Green Lantern finished for her.
"What's 'unexpected'?" Wally asked a slight anger in his tone now.
"Relax Wally, we just mean that we weren't expecting you to have red hair." Hawkgirl explained hastily.
The others – with the exception of Bruce – nodded in agreement.
"Huh? Really? Were you expecting a mysterious black, or maybe a handsome brown. . ."
"A dumb blonde." Bruce interjected suddenly as he continued to just stare out at the stars.
The room was silent for a moment as it was like Batman had dropped a bombshell on everyone. "Hey!" was all Flash could think to say as suddenly little giggles and snorts could be heard from the leaguers as they tried not to laugh. "Oh come on guys! That was not funny!"
OMG! I actually wrote a one-shot! LOL! I don't know why but one-shots are the hardest thing in the world for me to write. 9 times outta 10 then end up getting two or three more chapters added onto them by the time I'm done writing the frist chapter. LOL! Oh well, this one is a one shot and it's just something that came to me when I was laying in bed earlier tonight bored. I'm not sure where this came from but I just had Batman's line pop into my head and after laughing for a good five minutes, got up and wrote it down before I could forget it (which is also something I do a lot).
