When life became too difficult
she knew just what to do
push the compass against her arm
and make a cut or two
She paused for a moment
just to catch her breath
then cut in deeper with more intent
ready for her death
She had told herself another lie
that today would be different then all the rest
So she trudged off to school
hoping for the best
And went around to her few friends
but they didn't bother to say,
or maybe they just forgot
to mention her birthday
She was supposed to meet them all
later at the Dot
but she decided to pull the same shit they did
and say that she forgot
Now she's lying on the floor
no blood left in her vein
She had found her way
to escape from all the pain
Across town at the Dot
there are streamers everywhere
for a surprise party of a girl
who thought the world forgot to care
