Author's note: Alright this odd, dark piece is based on the song Everything You Ever from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. I wont explain the song since....it is important to the movie, the movie was fabulous and I think everyone should just watch it. Another important idea I am playing with is the concept that the nation and the person are two seperated but still connected beings and which name is being used explains which part is being focused on. Ok that is it from me, please read, enjoy, and review. (No flames)
Russia looked at the fallen man. It was over. Alfred was dead and Ivan now ruled the world. He listened to the screams of pain from England as he was restrained from running to his lover. Canada was also crying for his brother, begging for him to rise. He looked at the rest of the world, knowing to look at England and Canada would be a mistake. The Europeans that were left had a broken look in their eyes. Even North Italy was silent and his eyes had darken and turned dull. Japan knelt in defeat. He turned to see if his allies were any happier for him. China refused to meet his eye. The Baltics, though he knew he never had their full support, were solemn and quiet; Lithuania's face twitching slightly. Ukraine wept and Belarus was as silent as the grave. It did not matter. He had achieved his goal. The free world was at his feet. His victory was complete.
"Arrest them for treason against their master." Russia snapped and those countries who had fought against him were lead away, passively, their wills broken. Only England continued to struggle; Russia turned from the pain.
He looked back at the broken body before him. Even in death, Alfred was beautiful. His was the complexion of the sky. His eyes matched the sky and his hair, his beautiful hair, was the color of the sun and sunflowers. It was not fair. They could have ruled together. Ivan would not have been alone then. They could have been with all of the other nations, happy and alive. Ivan wanted to lean down and touch Alfred's hair. He wanted to know if it really was as soft as it looked, but he saw his hands as he reached out and saw they were stained with sticky blood; Alfred's blood. He knew he would never be allowed to touch the other man.
It did not matter. Russia had gotten what he wanted. He has destroyed America. The enemy nations had lost their leader and it would now be impossible for them to rebel against him. He had already planned their containment and knew those who survived would never try to leave him. He would have to make sure his allies knew what would happen to them if they rebelled as well.
"Ivan," China said softly.
He looked back at Alfred. America was a fool. He thought good would always triumph over evil and that justice would prevail at the end. It did not matter. He had won and he would feel nothing for the lost of America.
"Clean this is up," He ordered as he walked away from the slowly vanishing body.
"Ivan," China tried again, but Russia continued to ignore him.
He strolled away. Ice filled his body. The nightmare was here at last. Russia ruled at long last and all the world would kneel at his feet. He closed his eyes and took a deep breathe. He would feel nothing. Ivan and Russia would feel nothing.
