Councillor Udina had another hard work of convincing the Virmire Survivor who is really Ashley or Kaidan to be the new human Spectre. As he goes to his office for paperwork, he gets approach by some worker at Citadel.
"Councillor Udina, someone just called you. It's personal," he said.
Sometimes, Udina has found him into curiosity in some of his subjects. Who could be calling me at a time like this? I'm not expecting anyone. Nevertheless...
"I see. Patch that line up."
When he activated his call, he saw a hologram of a nearly looking old man. This man is sitting on his chair and having a cigarette as usual. Udina recognizes this man. It's the Illusive Man, the leader of Cerberus, a paramilitary group that are not friends of the Alliance.
"Hello, Udina, good to see you at work," the man spoke up to him.
"What is it you want, Illusive Man? Can't you see I'm busy?" Udina has a grouched look on his face. He just hates it when people are making a disturbance. Nevertheless, he is getting curious of this. Why would he want to contact me?
The Illusive Man makes a smirk on his face and drops his cigarette to the ground of his hologram. He stands up and gets a little closer to Udina's desk.
"I'm offering you a deal, that's what."
"Well, I'm not interested," retorted Udina. "I would never make any deals to anyone who is not an ally to the Alliance, especially Cerberus."
The Illusive Man appears as careful as ever. He is fully aware that his organization is not an ally to the Alliance. If that wasn't enough, he has allied himself with the Reapers, an ancient race bent on causing destruction around the galaxy. Reading Udina's behavior, he really wants him to side with him.
"Is that so? I'm just like you. All I want is to find help to my homeworld. I assume you want that, right?"
Udina takes a shocking look at his face. He must face the truth. "Yes, I want to," was the reply.
"But you are a jerk," the Illusive Man said in honest of his behavior. "You are only interested in getting yourself famous more than saving the galaxy. Well, your life is about to change." He then extends his holographic hand over to Udina. "Join me and together, we can save the galaxy and rule over it."
Udina takes an interest in this offer. He grabs the Illusive Man's holographic hand, a sign of accepting his allegiance. "I accept. What is your bidding? I mean, what do you want me to do?"
The Illusive Man replies with a firm look on his face. "I want you to lead a coup of the Citadel. You must make the Council grant you all the power you needed to lead Cerberus into the Citadel. You must make sure they don't know that you're working for me now."
"But," Udina suddenly spoke up. "But what about Shepard? He will stop me."
"Don't worry, I'll have Kai Leng take care of him. Just get ready with this plan."
With this deal being sealed on agreement, Udina gets a start on his plan.
