She thought she knew what monsters were. She knew too well how vicious beings could be, how mermaids and Pirates tried to take everything from you because of your friendship with a certain motherless boy, and how mere jealousy could spark a Fairy to try to kill you. She'd been through so much, suffered so greatly, but she never realized who the real monster was until she returned home and finally realized Peter wasn't coming after her. She'd given him everything, even sacrificed her family, her home, and almost her life many times, when he'd given her nothing but memories. A part of her would always long for his return, but she knew now that, even if he did come back for her, she could never return to him, never go back to living her life for a boy who would never grow up.
