"So... are you and Owen back together?" Meredith asked.
Her, Christina and Mark were sitting at their usually table eating lunch, it had been almost 2 weeks since Alex died.
"I...I...I don't know... I don't want to talk about it," Christiana Stuttered, "did you hear about the hospital in Kansas with the Diphtheria outbreak?"
"Yeah, the whole hospital had to be locked down," Mark added watching Lexie run in from the O.R room to get some food.
"Hey look its Lexie," Meredith exclaimed.
"Hey, I was just getting some food for Doctor Hunt, he's teaching a class on how to do Hernia repair, he requested some food because he was in the middle of it and he didn't want to stop and he knew that I have already seen a few because when I was on Doctor Webbers surgeries I saw him do 1 or maybe 2, and I can always read a method of how to do after." Lexie rambled very fast," Did you hear about the Diphtheria outbreak in a Kansas hospital, they're on lockdown and no one can go in or out until the anti toxins arrive, half the doctor are apparently infected and patients are getting violent because they want out, but there not allowed because of regulations. Oh and I have to get back to the O.R and give Doctor Hunt his food, he's not doing the Hernia Repair on a real person and eating because that would be unhygienic, it's a dummy..Just so you know...umm bye," Lexie said rushing back to the O.R.
"Wow," Christina said.
"Yer, she's probably taking Alex's death the worst," Meredith explained.
Mark nodded and got up.
Lexie ran around the corner and bumped into someone.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry," she apologized.
"It's okay, hey Lex, I'm sorry about Karev, if you ever need someone to talk to or anything—"
"Oh, ummm I fine, I'm great... see ya," She replied.
Mark sat on his bed, he couldn't get Lexie out of his head; she was going to explode soon. Suddenly the doorbell rang. He opened the door to find the person he would most like to see.
She had tears dripping down her cheeks, she hugged him.
They stood there hugging for almost 20 minutes, he didn't want to let go of her. He lead her to his bed, not to get his way with her, but to comfort her, console her. This was not him, consoling girls after their boyfriends dies under his hands, but Lexie brought out another side to him.
They just layed there in silence to morning he wrapped her in his arms, he didn't mind at that his t-shirt was soaking wet.
