Gearhead or Hothead?
Chapter 1
It had been two weeks since Envy moved in with Winry and Pinako, and he did not understand why anyone agreed to this. This was supposed to be a "punishment" for all he had done, but in all honesty, he was loving this life. Sure he couldn't use alchemy or his transforming ability or super strength, hell, he was like a normal teenage boy, but who could say no to the good life? Sure there were some rules, such as no going after food when not asking and no swearing or lying, but he still loved it there.
After the two weeks, though, it went downhill fast. Envy was after a cake Pinako had just took out of the oven, but he was told not to even touch or look at it for too long until after dinner. But the cake smelled so good, and it was his favorite double chocolate cake! He was able to make his move when Pinako went to the grocery market, and Winry went with her. He stared at the cake, and ignored Pinako's warning that he would be in big trouble if he even laid a finger on the cake.
He did more than just that. He took a small crumb off the cake, and ate it. After that, he went a little nuts with chocolate fever. He started taking small crumbles, then bites, then handfuls, until he had licked the entire plate clean of any cake there. When he set the plate down, he realized the plate was lighter than before. He opened his eyes, and it took him a moment to register the chocolate all over his clothes, face, and especially hands. When he realized what he did, he was frantic. He washed all the chocolate off of him in the tub, and quickly washed his clothes. After everything was made chocolate-free, he had one big thing to worry about: Winry and Pinako were back, and the cake was still gone.
Envy's heart raced, as many thoughts whizzed through his mind of what to do to explain the cake's disappearance. He decided to do the one thing he would regret most: He decided to lie.
When Winry and Pinako entered through the kitchen door, he decided it was now or never. He went up to them, and lied, "Rats ate the cake."
Pinako was not buying it one bit. With Envy's face so close to hers, she could smell the chocolate on his breath. Winry had gone passed them, and looked in the bathtub, to see chocolate stains all over it. She sighed, and went back to the kitchen. Envy turned to see her, and asked, "What, something you were looking for?"
"Envy, what was the one big rule in our house, having to do with stretching the truth?" Winry growled. Envy gulped, and looked down at his feet, a nervous grin still on his face. "No lying. B-B-But I didn't" Before he could finish his sentence, Winry had him by the ear, and was dragging him to the bathroom. When she showed both of them the tub, Envy's stomach flipped. Winry pushed Envy toward the sink, still having a hold of his ear, and unwrapped a bar of soap.
Winry held up the bar of soap to Envy's mouth, and Envy pressed his lips tight. He knew what she was going to do, and he didn't like it one bit. Winry, expecting this defiance, twisted Envy's ear, making him yelp, so she could shove the soap in his mouth. As she scrubbed the soap through his mouth, Pinako started lecturing about how it was wrong for Envy to have lied. Envy tried to hold in as many tears as he could, which was not many, concerning the soap tasted horrible.
When Winry finally took out the soap and allowed Envy to rinse his mouth, Envy quickly turned on the sink and got as much of the taste out as he could. When he was finished with still some taste of soap in his mouth, he followed Winry out of the bathroom, to the living room, where Pinako stood holding a thin branch.
