I am new to Naruto, and this is dedicated to BuffyJai who happens to think pairing is pretty hot. I must agree, but in here, take it however you want.

Light Haku x Zabuza

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.

-Paradise-

Kakashi had said it and Zabuza, in his last moments had hoped the jonine was right...

He was never a praying man, but before he died, he sent his wishes up to the sky and believed. His tainted eyes closed and let the darkness pull him down into death. It was all over now and hell was waiting for his macabre soul to join Gato in an eternity of fiery pits and torture.

He smiled openly, the blood stained bandages still wrapped around his neck as he waited to feel pain. But, nothing came...nothing but a soft hand, pressed to his bare cheek. His dark orbs slowly fluttered open and he was met with nothing but light, white, and pristine, almost as beautiful as Haku. It was warm, but not scorching hot as he expected. This was not the infernal abyss, no...was this, heaven?

''Zabuza-san...''

That whisper...it sounded so...familiar.

Could it be? Had he ascended to heaven?

Haku...

Zabuza sat up and an angel with raven hair, on his knees, smiled beside him.

''Haku...''

The child ran a gentle hand over the tanned face.

''Zabuza-san, I have never before seen you without the bandages.'' Haku said in awe, with an angelic voice.

Zabuza felt those forbidden tears roll down his face again and pulled the boy against his chest. He stroked his fingers through the onyx locks; the smooth and silky feel of each strand so real to his touch.

''Haku, please forgive me...I never...never...''

''It's okay...I forgive you.'' His ivory face tilted up and smiled beautifully.

Calloused hands contoured his delicate visage.

''Haku...'' He remained silent for a moment. ''Why am I here, in heaven...together, with you?''

There was an innocent laugh.

''This is not heaven...even I am not good enough to go there.''

''But why am I not in hell?''

''Many have died by your hands...but Zabuza; your hands have guided me. You gave me a purpose...you gave me a dream worth living for-'' Tears fell from Haku's eyes. ''...and this… snowy sanctuary we are in, is my eternal gratitude and thanks...''

Haku was not pure enough for heaven, he had spilled too much crimson into the snow and Zabuza was spared from hell, his remorseful tears washed away the bloodstains of his past.

It was not heaven...but it was not hell either.

It was their frozen paradise.
