Grabbing, screaming, darkness, and crying. Riku's eyes flashed opened as he felt his sweat drenched pajamas clung to him like a second skin. Wiping his bangs away from his eyes, he couldn't help but frown in the darkness of his own bed room. Ever since he had returned to his home world with Sora, he had been having reoccurring nightmares.

The said nightmares turned out to be of him wandering in the darkness, aimlessly and endlessly. Sometimes, there would be figures from the past, like Ansem, or to be precise, Xehanort's heartless, standing there just to mock him. Or worse, harm him mentally and physically. Lately his night terrors were becoming worse and worse. He could barely stand to sleep. It was starting to become blaringly obvious to those around him that he was not getting much rest.

At school, Riku could barely keep conscious during lectures. His attention seemingly wavered whenever his friends conversed with one another, without his realizing it. Both Sora and Kairi voiced their concerns, while staring at him cutely with their wide expressive blue eyes. Each time Riku saw them staring at him like that, a part of him melted, and wished and willed that he could just melt into their arms. Instead, he would just smile and tell them "I'm okay," or "I'm fine. Really. Don't look so worried you guys."

With that, the three of them would laugh, as if nothing was wrong, and that Riku really was all right. Which of course was such a lie. Yet Riku cared for Sora and Kairi, and didn't want them to worry so. All he was having were silly nightmares. That was all, really.

It didn't help that even at night, two pairs of blue eyes would stare at him, flashing with concern. Only, those eyes didn't belong to Sora or Kairi, but to their shadows, their Nobodies. Naminé and Roxas. The two, instead of expressing their concerns verbally would only place an arm around him and whisper. "It's okay, Riku."

Whenever he'd hear them say that, he couldn't help but feel for once, that it was okay. That maybe, inside his own dreams, he could be forgiven. Instead of laughing it off like he would with Sora and Kairi, he would feel tears flow from his eyes, as he remain in their embrace. The two blondes would just engulf him in their arms and assure him that it's really okay.

It was all just a silly little dream to begin with, anyway.
