The price we pay for peace
Disclaimer: I do not own sailor moon
please read and review.
How far would you go to save all those you hold close to your heart? For so many years I've sacrificed my life doing what must be done to protect this world. I would not give this responsibility to anyone else, as I would never wish this to be brought on them.
What I am is both a gift and a curse. I have the gift of healing all those around me; however I have the curse of destroying those I hold close to my heart.
I looked across the barren wasteland that had once been a beautiful planet full of life. Now, instead of lush green grass, there was nothing but charred remains of what had once been Tokyo. There was no longer the sound of laughter, in fact there was nothing. There was no sound, nothing. I was all that was left in this world.
I had won the fight against the greatest evil known to this universe, and, thanks to the help of my friends we had managed to banish it forever. But at a price, they had all lain down their lives saving mine. None had survived.
I am alone in this universe. I am the solitary soldier, the Queen of the stars. I am Sailor Cosmos; I alone will stand watching and waiting. I am the one who fights off those who wish to harm this universe which I protect.
I ignore the solo tear as it makes its way down my face. This is the price we pay for peace.
I knelt into the ashes of what had once been my best friends Temple. "You all gave you life to help me. You're the ones who have saved the universe. Maybe one day we'll meet again."
I could no longer stay here; I will take up my post at the centre of the Cosmos. I will watch and wait for the day that the blue planet regains its beauty and its life. Until that day I will continue to fight for those who had died to save the universe and all who lived in it.
Sailor Cosmos turned and walked away, disappearing into the mist which had settled over the battle field. There was no longer any sign that any life had been on the planet. All that was left was a beautiful silver glass rose that was resting on the ashes of the Temple.
In future generations to come this rose was to become the symbol of peace.
This is the price we pay for having peace.
This is a one shot fic but if I'm convinced otherwise I may make it into a full story. I have a few ideas if I do continue but I would like you to decide.
