Pairing: House/Chase (but really could be anybody)

Disclaimer: Not mine.

Warnings: Character Death, slightly AU. Unbetad because it's really late and I'm feeling really guilty.

Summary: Colors of the rainbow excluding purple, cause I really wanted to end on blue.

Red- Not many people see it, but red is the color of grief. Red on the floor, where House lay after the shot, still echoing in Chase's memory. Red on his hands, time spent trying to bring him back. Red shots in his eyes from crying until there was nothing left.

Orange- The sunset was orange the first time House held him in his arms. Getting darker as his eyes rose from where the land meets the horizon. The sky was the same color the night he knew House would never hold him again.

Yellow- The yellow number two pencils around the lounge were separated into two distinct categories; the ones that belonged to Chase, and the ones everyone else used. Chase could never be bothered with the difference, so when the pile of chewed pencils got too big, House was the one who threw them away and bought him a whole new set. Lately, Chase's pencils had started to build up.

Green- Chase looked down at the grass below him, barely listening as the priest continued to speak. He listed the man's best qualities as he was lowered into the ground. It was a grey day out there; funny, Chase always thought the grass was supposed to be green.

Blue- Sharp, piercing blue eyes that always looked right through him. Chase figured that was what first caught his attention. He was always one to keep his secrets to himself, but it felt good to have one person able to see past it all. But when those bright eyes closed for the last time, Chase knew that was all he ever needed.
