Shadow Hunters
Chapter 1
"Rider, stop!"Tyler ordered.
"Why? This thing attacked us! It deserves to die!"Rider snarled.
Tyler grabbed Rider and pulled him away. Rider thrashed in his grasp. "Let me go!" he shouted.
Tyler dragged Rider back to their camp. The black shape laid on the ground and shifted back into human form. It was a human girl. Her long raven black hair fell over her green eyes. Crimson blood dripped from wounds scattered on her body.
"Where am I?" she asked herself weakly.
Rider brought up his sword and slashed hard on the training dummy. Tyler came up to him. "Taking your anger out on the dummy again?"he asked.
"Yes," he growled.
Tyler sighed.
"Why didn't you let me kill that thing a few nights ago?"Rider asked. His blue eyes blazed with fury.
"It wasn't meant to be killed, well not yet anyways,"Tyler replied. He brushed his light brown hair out of his amber eyes.
Rider slashed the head off the dummy. He placed his sword on his shoulder and looked at Tyler. "What do you mean?"he asked.
"Something was different about this shadow spirit,"Tyler said,"It seemed almost human like.''
Rider grunted then walked off. 'Human like, huh,'he thought,'I'll check this out for myself.' Rider walked through the woods then he caught the scent of another presence. He turned and saw a girl with dried blood caked on her body. He put away his sword and went over to her.
"You okay?"he asked.
The girl looked at him. Fear shrouded her green eyes. She backed up slightly and shook her head. 'It..It's him!'
"Hey, I'm not going to hurt you,"Rider said.
The girl collapsed to the ground. Rider went over and scooped her into his arms. He carried her back. Tyler saw him with the girl.
"Oh, Rider, what did you do?"he asked.
"Hey, I found her in the woods,"Rider said,"She's hurt badly.''
Tyler nodded. He lead them to the healer's tent.
"Star, we got something for you,"he said.
Star came out. She moved her red hair out of her face. She looked at the girl Rider was holding.
"Bring her over here,"she said.
Rider nodded and carried the girl over. He set her down. Star started to work on her and she soon finished.
"She needs to rest now, whoever she is,"she said.
Tyler nodded and left. Rider stayed behind. He looked at the girl.
"She'll be fine Rider,"Star said.
"I know, but I feel like I need to stay here with her,"Rider said.
