Everyone in the room was buzzing. The great Kazekage was going to make an announcement. His brother and sister were sitting on stage, with looks of bewilderment on their faces. After making everyone wait for what seemed like forever, a micro sand tornado appeared and when it disapparated, Gaara was there. The room turned silent as Gaara walked towards the microphone. He thanked everyone for coming. Gaara wasted no more time and got right down to it.
"Everyone, it is with great sadness that I announce my retirement as Sunagakure's Kazekage."
If Shinra Tensei had hit the village, it would not have wiped away the shock that was registered on all the faces.
"I realize that I am still very young. People have retired at young ages like me. All of my time served as this village's Kazekage is something that I will never forget. Sunagakure's patrons hated me because I carried a bijuu in me. When they finally accepted me, I wept. I wept because they saw the real person through the demon in me. I'm thankful that I was as good a Kazekage as my abilities would let me. There are now other things in life that I want to pursue. Do not fret everyone; my successor is someone you all know very well."
Now, the room was buzzing again.
"My successor is ... Sabaku no Temari."
Everyone immediately turned to face Temari, who turned beet red. With an encouraging smile flashed to her by Gaara, he continued on while looking at her...
"Temari, I can understand your shock right now. I'm confident that you can be an excellent Kazekage. You're a superb Jounin with top-notch leadership qualities. What separates you from the rest is is your strength and character. You'll make the transistion easy. I have faith in you. Sunagakure has faith in you."
By this time, Temari was wiping away tears from her eyes. She got up and after giving her brother a hug, she approached the mic.
"I, Sabaku no Temari, accept the title as Kazekage. My first move will be to name my other brother, Kankuro, as my #2. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure the village is safe."
Gaara disappeared at the height of the applause.
Gaara is holding a girl in his arms.
"The whole process went well beautiful. We will be able to travel the world and live free and happy."
"I'm glad we are... Gaara-sama."
"Matsuri, just call me Gaara-kun. You're not my student anymore; you're my wife."
"Very well, then, Gaara-kun. You will have a future student, if you choose to train him..." Gaara massages Matsuri's belly and he feels a bump.
"You're going to be a father darling." She was beaming.
"Oh Matsuri!" Gaara started crying.
"My village may have turned its back on me; however, I will never turn my back on you or our son my angel. Never."
