*Jamie's POV*

I walked down the street. It was cold out and the wind stung my skin as I walked down the dark and gloomy street. My feet had been aching for around two days straight and I was pretty sure that I had blisters on my heels. I had to find somewhere to rest before I passed out from exhaustion. Why was my life always so hard? If there was a god up there he must not like me. I really can't believe that I am out here following this road not knowing where it actually leads. As I passed a house I thought of my bed and the couch I used to hide behind when my mom and dad were drunk. Oh how many times have I wished that this wasn't my life, that this 'gift' was a gift I could return. I never wanted it, never. All they brought were more trouble. If I was a regular kid with regular parents then yeah this would be the best thing to me if I wasn't a freak to everyone in the world.

As it grew darker out I grew nearer to the outskirts of the large town. Where would I go when I got out of the city? Its not like flying was my mutation. I wish it was. A gush of wind blew up from behind me and my brown hair flew in front of my face. Oh perfect just perfect. It is cold, no scratch that freezing and all I have is a small jacket that is getting smaller each day. I really needed to stop. I walked over to the side of the road and sat down on the curb trying to keep awake but failing miserably. As my head rolled back and I felt my body go limp I could hear some large object land next to road about 40 feet away.
