Light and L sat next to each other in rolling office chairs in the headquarters room.
"Ryuuzaki"
"Yes, Yagami-kun"
"Why are we watching this security clip repeatedly?"
"What are you talking about, Yagami-kun?" L asked as he pressed the rewind button on the remote.
"You know what I'm talking about, Ryuuzaki, you just pushed the replay button."
"I'm afraid that I don't know what you are referring to" L said, placing his thumb to his lips and leaning closer to the monitor, feigning extreme interest, then pressing the replay button again.
"Ryuuzaki, we are watching a security clip, correct?"
"Yes, that is so, Yagami-kun, but I still don't understand your question."
"I know you have a reason for everything damn thing you do. Are you testing me again? Seeing what my reaction is to being forced to watch the same clip for hours on end?" Light asked in exasperation.
"Whatever are you talking about Yagami-kun?"
L's aloof, disinterested attitude was driving him crazy. Light fisted his fingers through his hair, making the chain jingle between them. "I just don't see how this is beneficial to the case. I understand that Misa-chan was a suspect, but how is watching her blow spit bubbles over and over helping us at all?"
"Are you familiar with the expression, 'know thine enemy', Yagami-kun?"
Light sighed. Once L was in one of his moods, no one else's logic mattered.
L moved his thumb across his lips, trying to ward of the crooked grin his mouth wanted to make. This was, perhaps, the highlight of his week. It was things like this that kept him going in a tough case with no relative progress. He pushed the replay button again.

"Ryuuzaki, what is the real reason we are watching this clip?" Light asked with defeat.
"Why of course Yagami-kun, we are watching it because it annoys you." L replied turning to him with a wry grin, pressing the replay button again.
