I still recall every summer night
Like it was yesterday
The time would never end
And my friends were family
Nothing mattered more
Than the loyalty we had
Now I'm a world away from everything we shared

A large black dog loped happily around the Womping Willow, panting heavily. He licked the leg of a large brown stag and dodged away from his sharp hooves. For what seemed the first time in his life, Sirius Black was truly happy. Surrounded by his awkward pack, he felt as if he were surrounded in family. It was his hevan, or it seemed to be, because he was dead.

I had something better
Waiting ahead
I try to take control of my heart
I had something better
But I'll tear it down and I'll tape it up
By my own design I fall

James gazed sadly out the window, onto the street of Godric Hollow. He glanced down at his desk, covered in paperwork for the Order. He should have been working, but the way Lily's hair looked in the firelight as she played with her son, was distracting him. James knew he was only living through his memories before his death, but he couldn't help the longing to see the real Lily again.

Bring back the days
Three story parking lot
The air is never dry
As the city falls asleep, days bleed into the night

A werewolf stood alone in the night. Lonely without his pack, forced to break his own skin to keep himself in check.

The tables set the stage
For a life of memories
But I'm a world away from everything

Peter bowed low to Lord Voldimort. He looked longingly out at a hill that reminded him of the one at Hogwarts. He'd wanted to be on Voldimorts side, but now, his feelings had changed, and he longed to go find Remus and maybe go see Prong's and Padfoot's graves. He needed to apologize for his crimes, before this war stole his life.

I had something better
Waiting ahead
I try to take control of my heart
I had something better
But I'll tear it down and I'll tape it up
By my own design I fall
Apart as time passes by
I fall apart but the memories never die

James's heart gave a painful squeeze, this was his eternal torcher. He was condemned to a life of torcher because of his foolish action of believing in Wormtail. The mistake that had ruined more lives than his own.

And I still recall every summer night
It seems like yesterday but I'm still a world away (still a world away)

Sirius let his animal side take over his body, he didn't want to think of the things he'd left behind when he'd died. His last moment, seeing Harry's face stretching into horror, was forever plastered onto the back of his eyelids.

I had something better
Waiting ahead
I try to take control of my heart
I had something better
But I'll tear it down and I'll tape it up
By my own design I fall

Wormtail waited impatiently for the hurtful pangs. It Sirius's eyes he would never redeem himself, so why should he even try? It didn't matter anyway, only Remus knew him for what he really was, and it would be ironic if he called him a monster.

I had something better (I had something better)
I had something better
And I Fall apart
As time passes

Remus brushed hair from Tonk's peaceful face, she only let her guard down when she was sleeping. It was painful, to see the similarities all pure-bloods have ghostly showing through her skin. The shape of her eyes was almost the same as Sirius's, and her jaw was the same jaunty point that James's had been.
