When Doctor Who
was new
He was already old
Or so we're told.
William Hartnell
Lived well.
His acting awards lined the shelf
But the First Doctor could not heal himself.
When Patrick Troughton played
the Doctor, people stayed.
But his recorder they drowned out
with perhaps a glass of stout.
John Pertwee
was prone to answering questions curtly.
After first meeting the Master,
he spoke even faster.
Tom Baker was
the Definite Article, because
he stayed on for seven years
but left his successor alone with his fears.
Peter Davison was good at cricket
But he encountered many a sticky wicket.
When he called for Adric
It was quite tragic.
Colin Baker:
Why do we consider him a faker?
He really wanted to be on Doctor Who
But when they screwed him over, he left. Well, wouldn't you?
Sylvester McCoy
Often acted like humans were toys
But he was quickly forgiven upon
Hearing him talk about Rrrrrassilon.
Paul McGann is
probably the shortest-lived Doctor. His
many adventures are worth a look
But I have yet to find the book.
Christopher Eccleston
Fought the Last Great Time War, and lost when he won.
But while he was feeling morose,
A girl came along and cheered him up. You know who she is, and the story is better told in prose.
David Tennant is a Doctor Who fanboy.
You can tell by his effusive joy
in declaring the world BRILLIANT!
But once Rose and Donna are gone, he really can't.
When I first saw Matt Smith
I thought he lacked pith.
But seeing the emotions he's evinced
I am now thoroughly convinced.
River Song could
be the only water in the wood
But the Doctor's more in awe
of his formerly plastic father-in-law.
Captain Jack
was taken oddly aback
when the man who was the last of his kind
said "I really don't mind."
In 'sixty-six the beans were spilt:
Fraser Hines looks good in a kilt.
Long ago he jumped at the call;
it's a shame he had to forget it all.
A Dalek may think it's great
to EX-TER-MIN-ATE
but when the Doctor takes a stand
the plunger's on the other hand.
When a Silent comes to your home...
wait, why am I writing this poem?
Now I feel rotten
because I've forgotten.
