Hi! I haven't posted anything new in ages, nor have I updated anything... But this is An's very early Christmas pressie!
I know I left too much mess and destruction to come back again
And I caused nothing but trouble
I understand if you can't talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of it's over
Then I'm sure that that makes sense - Dido, White Flag
here begins the descent
It was always nice to go on an outing with Andromeda, stroll through Diagon Alley, maybe buy little Dora an ice cream or meet friends at the Leaky Cauldron. Today was no exception as the two wandered aimlessly through the town, occasionally glancing into a shop window or catching the odd glimpse of a friendly face in the crowd. The sun was setting, bathing the world in orange and black and casting an ethereal, almost transcendental glow over the place, and Sirius didn't think he had ever seen anything quite so beautiful.
And then two heart-wrenchingly familiar faces emerge from the crowd and the world is crashing down around their ears as Bellatrix and Regulus stop dead before them, a challenge of pride, yet a challenge of ignorance; for to acknowledge would be unforgivable, while to ignore would be to destroy. Four identical pairs of eyes meet, remembering forgotten times and childish adventures, first times and last times, hugs and drawn wands.
(and this is it, the place where hate is born and innocence dies, because here begins the descent; none is ever quite the same again)

Next time Sirius sees his brother, he is cold and stiff in the ground, first the hunter, then the hunted; the vindicator of the damned, a man so helpless to control the forces over which he had no influence.
(but obscenely peaceful for one so haunted)
Next time Andromeda sees her sister, she is but a tainted, tarnished shell of the person she once was, shock painted across her aristocratic face as her twisted beliefs shattered before her eyes.
(the invincible one is dead)

It's not as long as I anticipated (nothing ever is), and I'm really quite worried about the skewed tenses, jumping between time frames from one sentence to the next, even from word to word, but I'm quite pleased with it... Merry December 1st everyone! And pleeeease review...
