My eyes open and I let them rest on him. He has that confident look that I love. I run to him leaping into his arms.

"I miss you" I murmured squeezing my eyes shut trying to keep my self from crying.

"I did too" he mumbled into my hair. He was more than usual. I pulled away to look at him.

"Why you do it, kamina?" I asked tears stinging at my eyes.

"To protect everyone… especially you" he whispered pulling me closer to him.

"We could've escaped you know" I said resting my head in the crook of his neck.

"And what about my pride?" he muttered, "id rather die a hero the live to be a coward." The comment enraged me how could he say that.

"What about it! WHAT ABOUT ME! ID RATHER YOU BE A LIVING COWARD THAN A DEAD HERO YOU IDIOT! WHAT IS YOUR PRIDE MORE IMPORTANT THAN ME!" I shouted at him ripping myself from his grip. I fell to the ground tears springing from my eyes. He knelt down and lifted my chin. With his other hand he wiped the tears from my eyes. Then I felt his lips pressed against mine. I felt the blush paint my cheeks. After my moment of being stunned I began to kiss back. Eventually he broke the kiss to breathe

"Oh Kamina I'm so confused I need you" I murmured.

"yoko I need you to be strong, keep team Gurren Lagann alive do whatever it takes with no hesitations " he whispered "promise?"

"I promise" I said. He helped me stand up

"Your leaving me aren't you" I said the tears returning.

"I'll never leave you if you don't want me too just always believe in me and ill be right here" he said touching where my heart was. He turns to walk away

"But what if that's not enough will I ever be with you again" I asked knowing the answer.

" when ever you think of me ill be there when ever your in the heat of battle ill be there when you even just want me there ill be there with you" he said his voice rising with every sentence. That's why I loved him so much he inspired people.

"Oh and Yoko I love you" He turned to kiss me one last time before walking away fading into the darkness.

I blinked a couple times adjusting to the light pooling through my window my dream vanishing away

"I love you too kamina"I heard my self murmur. A single tear fell from my eye.

"Hey yoko are you ready!" Simon called poking his head into the room. Startled I hesitated for a moment wanting to keep the essence of Kamina and my dream alive but I remember "no hesitations, be strong" so I nodded and jumped out of bed.

"LET'S GO!" I yelled with fake enthusiasm running past Simon
