Chapter one: What's in the background.
A/N: Story is told from Piper's point of view.
Summary: All decisions we make in life contribute to the future, some more that others. Piper makes a decision that not only effects her family, but some friends. A/B/C crossover.
I should've listened to Leo 25 years ago when he told me not to, but I couldn't help it. That poor little boy, his father, and what I think was his mother. That was the day I gave up, gave up on magic all together. You're probably very confused right now...aren't you?
Well it all started 25 years ago...today.
It was a beautiful September day. All the kids were starting school and I was walking my little Melinda to her first day of 4th grade and Lizzie, Phoebe and Cole's daughter, to her first day of 3rd grade. They were holding hands while holding tight to their matching jackets...they were so cute, funny how it would be over soon. How soon we all forget our best friends and maybe with you it's not a matter of demons and witches, but with them it was or will be.
[Poor Elizabeth, her tiny soul already tainted by...Cole. I don't know what he was thinking when he didn't tell us about his new "occupation." I mean how stupid can you be to keep secrets from a Seer. That's what Phoebe was. Cole killed her accidentally he says. Yeah, right. Anyway, Phoebe left Lizzie to me, I was her godmother and guardian. I was supposed to take care of Lizzie...keep her away from him.]
Oh did I tell you about Paige's little boy? He turned up on our doorstep with a note; his name was Connor Angel. The note said for us to please take care of him. That if we didn't the little boy would die. Paige couldn't say no to the sweet little face, but he'd been trying to find out who his real parents are and Paige didn't know that she could take him leaving her. I would reassure her that Connor was only in 5th grade and that he needed her.
Everything was perfect then...how soon our perfect life was destroyed.

Melinda is 18, Connor is 19, and Lizzie is 17.
Cole surfaces himself to find his daughter, so he can turn her to evil.
Angel goes to San Francisco to find Connor after Wes tells him the truth about what he did to him.
Melinda and Lizzie quickly turn from best friends to arch enemies.
