James a Lily looked each other in the eyes. Their date had just ended. It was a wonderful and simple dinner and a movie. James thought that the movie was boring, but it made Lily happy.
Sirius was at home caring for Harry. He had been crying for ten minutes, and Sirius had no idea what to do. He change his nappy, but Harry still screamed and cried loudly.
Sirius looked down at Harry. The baby was crying, and the man was almost ready to cry himself. He didn't want to ruin James's and Lily's first date since they had Harry.
He laid the eleven month old toddler on the play mat and shifted into Padfoot. Harry immediately stopped crying and stared at the huge grim standing next to his mat. He stood on his shaky legs and walked to it.
He plopped down right in front of the dog that was now sitting. He reached up and pulled at one of its short ears. Padfoot yelped, but Harry didn't seem to notice. The grim just stared down at him with silver eyes.
The toddler giggled and clapped his hands. He stood up once more and laid on the grim's back. He yawned before curling up and falling asleep. Sirius sighed in relief.
The man went to change back to his human form, but Harry protested with a few whining noises and held onto the dog's fur. Sirius eventually managed to get Harry to roll into his chest and off his back. He curled around the baby protectively.
A few hours later, James and Lily walked into their living room and laughed at what they saw. A huge grim was curled around their small, sleeping son. The boy was clinging to the dog's fur like he would never let go. The dog had a tortured look on his face, as the child was sucking his muzzle in his sleep.
Lily picked up her son and placed him in his crib. The dog licked its nose and made a face at the weird taste. He shifted into his human form.
"Thanks for watching Harry for us while we were on our date," James told him.
"It's fine. I have a way with kids. They just love me," Sirius bragged.
"So you're saying you'll be able to watch the others, too?"
"What others?" Sirius asked confusedly. James had a mischievous look on his face.
"We're having triplets. Lily is about a month along."
Sirius's face blanched at the information. "No. Nope. I will not have four of those little things running around while I try to take care of them. Nope. Nope." Sirius said while packing away his things. He turned and left without another word.
"Why did you do that? You know we're not having anymore children." Lily asked amusedly.
"I wanted to get back at him for dying my hair pink that day."
