Has a student ever been to italy, Spain China and back home in 10 seconds? Well I have. I am able to do this by opening up a book and reading it. Teenagers who do not read often enough should find a nice cozy place and open up a book.
Reading is like travelling. A book is young readers passport to any place on Earth. A reader can gain experiences from the cool sights and sounds they encounter, they can gain so much knowledge, and gain endless fun and enjoyment. What more could a reader ask for? With no financial restraints and no planning and packing to do, wouldn't reading be the best hobby in the world.
Books help learn us knew things. Reading can help us add new words to our vocabulary. A reader can be reading a book and come across a word they have never even heard before. But by reading it the reader can find out what it means and the reader may end up using it in there vocabulary. Not only do books teach us new words, but they also teach us about history, science, and philosophy. A Lot of what I know from history I have learned from reading books.
Reading books is also good for helping readers deal with emotions. Say a teenage girl is sad because she just got through a bad break up. Well she can pick up a funny book and see her sadness go straight to happiness. Or someones mad at there best friend for something and they are just so mad they want to punch a wall. Well instead of that person hurting their fist they can just pick up a book and start reading it. Soon enough they will find out that they forget that they were mad in the first place. Theres been many times i was feeling down because of something that had happened to me early that day. I would just go home and open up a book and feel ten times better after a couple of minutes into reading.
The final and last reason why someone should read books is because they can be anyone they wish to be. Theres been times when I wished I could be a superhero or the President. So I picked up a book on superheroes. While I was reading it I realized I was so into the book that I felt that I was the super hero. I was the one doing all those heroic things like saving people from a fire or fighting a bad guy. If some one thats poor and wishes to be rich all they have to do is pick up a book and be any one they want. In a book you can be a top general who lead an army into battle and was victorious. Or you could just be some who found true love and happiness. Some one who does not like to read in the first place might think that reading is boring and just right out lame. But trust me it is not even close to it. They can be anyone do anything in the word just by picking up a book and reading it.
You will never succeed in life if you do not read. There is not a second that goes by in a day that you do not have to read. But, that does not mean that you can not pick up a book and read for liesure.
