"Do you love her FP?"
Her voice echoes through the room, leaving an eerie feeling behind. The room is dark, the only light coming from the subtle flicker of her eyes, she is about to cry. He is standing tall in his uniform, his facial expression cold as ice, but his eyes are giving away all the pain that has been bottled up ever since Gladys came back.
"She is the mother of my child"
She feels like this is finally the end, this is how she dies. That little piece of her heart being held by a tiny thread is finally loose enough to forever fall into the abyss, she has nothing. She is nothing.
"And me?"
Alice pauses. It's almost as if she wants to ask him if he loved her because she is also the mother of his child, but then she remembers. She killed Charles, their child. It's all Alice's fault. And she struggles to complete her question, but her whole being aches to know…
"Do you love me, FP?"
He can't breathe. Suddenly his tie feels tight on his neck, uniform like a straitjacket and he feels trapped. He wants to scream, break everything in front of him only to embrace her and never let go. He wants to say yes, but he must think about what' best for his family now. So FP moves forward, and without missing a beat he says what he must.
"It doesn't matter now. It's over"
Her knees give out, but she won't fall, not yet, only one tear escapes, that damn traitor. She leaves. Turns her back on the last thing keeping her together. Edgar was right, he is the only one who can help her now.
He watches her closing the door. This time he's the one walking away from them. And so with that thought in his mind he finally lets out a scream and soon after he starts demolishing his office.
