Lily gazed at Harry while his wand pulsed with light as his 'Expelliarmus' met Voldemort's 'Avada Kedavra', her mind filled with fear. The only thing she was consciously aware of thinking was: oh God, please not Harry, please not Harry. Please God, don't let him die!

"It's going to be okay, Lils." James' spectral 'smoke' form reassured her.

"I hope you're right, James. Can you imagine what'd happen if Harry died? Think of his friends, his teachers, the whole wizarding world?!?!"

"I try not to. Don't be so pessimistic."

Lily resumed her frantic prayers for Harry's safety.

Please, God, let him survive. Not Harry, not now, not when he has so much to live for!

She felt a sucking sensation, and then found herself in a graveyard, watching the same scene she had observed before. Except, there were a few changes. First, the beams of light had unified to become one golden, glimmering ray.

"Oh my… Priori Incantatem." Lily breathed.

"Whoa. The twin cores." explained James' voice from nowhere in particular.

"They have twin cores in their wands?! Harry and Voldemort?!?" Lily asked in disbelief.

"Yeah. Dumbledore told me, before Harry was born, that he gave two of Fawkes' feathers to Ollivander."

"Oh boy. That could be good, or bad."

"Well, it has saved Harry's life already." James pointed out from wherever they were before she had been 'sucked out'. "We should help Harry." He added.

"Right."

She glided over two or three feet to Harry.

"It's alright, Harry."

"Mum?!?!?!"

"Yes, dear. Hold on, Harry. Your father's coming. Hold on for us, Harry."

He nodded his head in understanding. She then noticed the beads of sweat glistening on his face. Poor thing. It's a lot of work, controlling that much force.

Soon, James floated out of Voldemort's wand and glided over to hover by Lily, Bertha Jorkins, and an old Muggle.

"Alright, Harry listen closely: once the Priori Incantatem is broken, we'll linger for a moment, but only for a moment. Do you understand?"

Harry's eyes were misty as he gazed sadly at his deceased parents.

Lily seemed to sense his thoughts, and she said, "Harry, you can't depend on our memory forever. It's sweet, but you can't. You know we love you, but…'

"I know. You can't stay with me." Harry nodded glumly.

Lily's smile was melancholy. "You need to go now."

Harry ran to Cedric's body and shouted, "Accio Portkey!"

Just like that, he was gone. Lily felt the pull and she let go. As she disappeared, she willed, Goodbye. I love you…
