Joyless Euphoria

"You did WHAT?" Serena screamed out. She couldn't believe him! Her boyfriend of almost 3 years was seriously the most frustrating human being she had ever met. It had always been like that, since square one, but now that they were living together it was as if any little quirk he had that she couldn't stand suddenly got amplified.

"I'm sorry!" Darien said back to his girlfriend. His hands were held protectively in front of his chest, as if protecting himself from his petite angel. Although she was significantly shorter than him, she could be quite intimidating.

Letting out a low growl, Serena closed her eyes. Bringing up a small hand to her forehead, she counted to ten.

Once she was finished counting, she looked up at Darien once again.

"I thought we had something special." She whispered out to him. Her blue eyes held an expression of deep sadness. Looking at her almost broke Darien's heart.

"I thought I could trust you with these things, Darien!! You know how much these things mean to me." Her breath became shallow and her chest began to rise and fall at an alarming rate.

"Honey. Serena, darling. Please calm down. You're going to hyperventilate!"

"I CAN'T CALM DOWN, DARIEN!" Her tears began to fall freely now, staining her porcelain face. "I can't. I just… can't." a sob escaped her lips and she trembled a bit.

He couldn't stand seeing her there, crying and shaking because of him. He quickly gathered his girlfriend in his arms and held on to her tightly. One arm went around her waist in a strong, yet gentle grip, and he used his other hand to sooth her back.

"Serena, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you'd be so upset." He gently kissed her hair and apologized again.

Once her sobs had stopped, she looked up to him with a puffy red face and tear covered eyes.

"You mean that?"

"Of course I do, Serena. I'm sorry. I love you."

Sighing she buried her head into his chest.

"I love you too."

Looking up at him again, she let out what had been bothering her all morning.

"But HONESTLY Darien!! I still can't believe you read my Sailor V comic before I even had the chance to!!" Another set of sobs erupted from the blond and Darien sighed, attempting to sooth her all over again.
