Garrett is a dragonborn I haven't made in game because I don't have what I want to be able to do that, no mods for that kind of thing I'm on PS4 TT^TT I put him through a lot but in the end he'll get a happy ending. I always give my characters a happy ending.
They had not pitied him… or been smothering. They must have known he wouldn't like that.
His name was Garrett or… at least he thought so. The people who he grew up with only ever insulted him but one day one had called him Garrett. He'd never seen the person again after that.
He had joined the Guild for money. Chopping firewood for an inn keeper was okay but it was tiring and really hard work that his body couldn't handle.
He already knew how to steal and sneak around the offer to join the Guild was too good to pass up.
A lot had happened, Merecer was a murdering traitor, Nocturnal made him a Nightingale and now? He was the Guild master.
Though unlike two others who were nightingales Nocturnal had no hold over his soul. He had refused her power if that was the cost, he would give his soul to no one. Nocturnal hadn't been pleased by his refusal, she had taken to lecturing him and saying what he was giving up until...she noticed what he was. Nocturnal had backed off.
Useful for once.
Of course things got better after a while, the Guild was doing well then the other shoe dropped. He'd lipped on the wet ground on his way out, hitting his head and falling into the water face first. Everyone in the Flagon had rushed to get him out before he drowned.
They had discovered his scars. The scars from his years of torture. Saphire got to learn they had a similar experience only the person who had hurt him in that way wasn't dead.
It had taken a long time but they had gotten it out of him, he had given some descriptions of the people who hurt but only a few of them since he couldn't remember them all. Delvin quickly got in contact with some old friends…Garrett was pretty sure he was better off not knowing.
It'd been a month since then, he was going to look into a kid trying to summon the Dark BrotherHood…assassins. Not a job he would ever have, he killed only when he had no other choice and of course if the person deserved it, such as a bandit.
"Ey wait."
Garrett paused and turned around. Vex, Delvin and Brynjolf.
"What?" He asked warily, they never stopped him from leaving before.
"Here." Vex said holding out an Alchemist's satchel.
Garrett took it and looked in. He didn't know what the potions or salves were. "...Again what?"
"Sacr fader."
Garrett's head snapped up. "Wha...how? Why?"
"Most scars we would say be proud of them, they show what you lived through. In your case lad, they are a nasty memory you'd rather not have. So we got these for you." Brynjolf said arms crossed over his chest.
Garrett didn't know what to say. No one had ever… given him something for free ever. To his surprise he started to cry. The reaction wasn't unexpected.
Every nearby thief came over to comfort him, to make up for years he'd been hurt instead of loved.
The Guild was his family now, they would always be there should he need them.
