It was an average Saturday at Beacon Academy; Jaune Arc was strolling down the hallway to the school cafeteria for lunch. He was particularly excited about lunch that day because they were having pizza that Saturday. Pizza was Jaune's favorite food. But, when he turned the corner in the hallway a petite, brunette with large rabbit ears was staring at him.

"Jaune! I'm so glad you're here, I need your help!" said the girl.

"Velvet relax, what do you need help with?" Jaune asked.

Velvet Scarlatina took in a deep breath and began to explain, "Well it all started this morning when I woke up, and went to breakfast. Then, after I ate, Cardin took my favorite pen and hid it from me! Will you help me find it? Please?"

Jaune heaved a heavy sigh, and thought to himself, "Should I help Velvet? I really want to get some pizza. No Jaune, it's the right thing to do."

"Okay Velvet, I'll help," Jaune said.

"Yippee! Thank you so much Jaune, it means a lot!" Velvet said wrapping her arms around him.

"So, what did this pen look like?" he asked.

"Um, give me a moment to remember. It's purple, and it writes with glittery, purple ink," Velvet recalled.

"Where do you think Cardin would hide your pen?"

"Hmm, if I had to guess I would say somewhere that I could never go, like his dorm or the veterinarian," she replied.

Jaune and Velvet began their search by going to Team CRDL's dormitory. They searched every drawer, cabinet, and cupboard with no signs of Velvet's missing pen.

"It's not here." Velvet whined. "Where else would it be?"

"You said it was probably somewhere you couldn't go right?" Jaune questioned.

Velvet nodded. The blonde sleuth began to stroke his chin and ponder. He paced back and forth in Team CRDL's room. "Jaune what are you thinking?" Velvet asked.

"That's it! I know where Cardin hid your pen!" Jaune yelled. "Where is the one place that Cardin would know you'd be reluctant to go, the one place where you would be so embarrassed to go that it would torment you for his entertainment?"

"Ummmmm."

"The boys' locker room!"

Jaune and Velvet made their way to the boys' locker room to find none other than Cardin Winchester holding in one hand a cell phone, and a purple pen the other.

"Well well, if it isn't Mister Arc," said the notorious red-haired bully.

"Cardin, give Velvet back her pen, now." Jaune commanded.

"Sure, but not without an embarrassing photo of our dear faunus friend."

Cardin raised his phone and snapped a picture of Velvet with the Boys sign in the background.

Jaune charged at Cardin, tackling him to the floor. He placed a hand over Cardin's face, grabbed his phone, and deleted the picture from his phone.

Detective Jaune and his sidekick Velvet fled from the boys' locker room with her pen.

The two teenage sleuths were standing outside the school cafeteria.

"Thank you so much Jaune this means so much to me. If you ever need a favor I owe you one big time," Velvet said giddily.

"Well unless you can get me a slice of pizza; lunch has been over for half an hour," Jaune replied glumly.

"I'm sorry for keeping you from lunch."

Velvet skipped off down the hallway holding her pen, clicking it rapidly.

"That was a very nice thing you did Jaune," said a voice from behind him.

The emerald-eyed girl with strawberry hair was standing behind Jaune, and in her hand was a paper plate with a slice of pizza.

"Your reward for solving the case," she said, whilst extending the plate to him.

"Pyrrha, thank you so much, you don't know how much I've been looking forward to this."

The two exchanged smiles and Jaune looked down at his slice of pepperoni pizza.

"Um, Jaune? Are you tearing up?" Pyrrha asked.
