Dear Hoss,

Good golly, man, you're heavy! But my back is strong and I can carry you anywhere you need to go. My legs may be shorter than some, but my brawn is necessary to cart you around everywhere! All the same, I like it when you sing to me when I'm carrying you along the fences; I don't know if you ever really look to hard for broken fence, but I just keep plugging along. I may not be as flashy as Cochise, as wise as Buck, or as high-spirited as Sport but I'm steady. I won't let you down, Hoss! You can count on me to take you where you need to go, even if I get tired because of your weight. Whenever we're in town and the little kids come flocking to you, I stand still so I won't squash any of them under my big hooves; I couldn't bear to see your face if I hurt one of them. Jumpin' Jehosaphat, there's a lot of 'em though! When we head back to the barn, you always give me a little more feed than you give the others, and I thoroughly appreciate it. It's very necessary for me to keep up my, er, strength shall we say.

You can always count on me,

Chub
