Summary: Short little one-shot about Lily,
Sirius, and Harry. This is not a Lily/Sirius ship.

Lily might have married James, but she knew that entailed loving his three best friends as well. Each boy as different as the next. There was James, who was rowdy, noisy, and proud; the leader. Then you had Remus, who was also one of Lily's dearest friends, who was quiet, responsible, and grounded; the brains. Peter, who was Lily's least favorite of James' pals, was anxious, shifty, and weak; the follower. And then, last but not least, James' very best friend, Sirius Black: loud, obnoxious, and daring; the jester. Lily hated to admit, but as much as she protested his very presence, Sirius was secretly her favorite, sometimes even over James. Not that she'd ever cheat on James, she loved him, but sometimes she wondered 'what if…?' What if she'd chosen Sirius instead of James? What if she'd married Sirius instead of James? What if she was pregnant with Sirius' child instead of James? She imagined the baby would have her red hair and Sirius twinkling, blue-grey eyes. Instead Sirius would be the godfather. He would probably buy Harry his first piece of candy and teach him how to steal cubes from the pantry. It was likely that her little Harry would also learn his first spells from Sirius (none of them appropriate) and would cuss just like him as well. Mostly she hoped he would pass on his daring to Harry.
