Through the years this war has lasted,
I've always thought there were better ways.
The pain in my heart was as thick as molasses,
I could never see the sun at day.
And when I cried,
I wept for the world.
For all the people that died,
Each boy and girl.
And when I stayed up at night.
I looked to the stars,
Shining so bright,
Each one so far apart.
And I would hear a whisper in the trees.
I would lift my wings and take flight.
The whole Earth belonged to me.
I would always remember that sight.
And out of all the battles,
I have fought.
None seem to matter,
Exept the one in my heart.
All my decsisions,
Would decide the fate.
Of a whole division,
Of a species , so great.
And the pressure was just too straining.
I had a hard time holding back.
I had a hard time restraining,
My heart from turning black.
And the poem of the one who leads,
Of the one who saved the Earth
Can describe a noble deed,
But can never describe the lessons I learned.
